@ScarDuck14The point is if no one makes games for vr nobody is going to buy vr and if nobody is buying vr nobody will make games. However they have developt vr for pc so it’s not like they need to start from scratch for psvr2VR was introduced on PC where there was a larger established interest in VR. Also note that F1 22.in VR on PC has not been very successful overall from what I can tell.
To go back to one of your earlier replies, sales/revenue will absolutely be the ultimate deciding factor, but this can be taking a long term view rather than immediately being profitable. My guess is that PSVR2 support will come in time but my points as to why it hasn't with F1 23 remain valid I feel.
- @Ultrasonic_77 I respectfully disagree with you point for reasons mentioned before

@Ultrasonic_77I don’t know if they were or not… But do think it’s will be Sonys own studios that will be the main factor on how quickly the player base grows. Which is a huge plus for psvr2 as there are many. If they knock it out off the park like GT7 then more people will invest in VR. But don’t expect to see this until next year.
NFS Unbound is I suppose a test case for EA as it’s new gen only…. Sales suffered hugely for it. So launching a game for still a small player base on PS5 along with an even smaller VR player base? Nope Well... sales/revenue will absolutely be the ultimate deciding factor.
Agree... almost.
But what if we look about sales from different angle? I mean - how many EA loses, not adding support for PSVR?!
Of course - if there's no VR support for PC version, then it's totally understandable, that EA will not invest in making ONLY PSVR2 version... But - if F1 have VR support for PC version, then I'm pretty sure, that making PSVR2 version isn't so big investment, that it will not worth for EA.
For me it is simple - GT7 "ruined" me! I will never buy any game without PSVR2 support anymore. For example - I bought every single release F1 series since 2008 I guess. I will definitely skip F1 23, if it will not support PSVR2.
- @Toy4584 That’s my point exectly how much would it cost to port something they allready developt. I will buy F1 ‘23 for my collection sinds i own every F1 game but i will buy it either next year when it’s €10 or better used when it’s cheap, i won’t play it anyway. Like you said GT7 VR haa changed the game
Of course, every PSVR2 owner isn't racing genre fan. (but I'm pretty sure, that most PSVR2 owners got GT7).
But even if there are only 20% or even 10% PSVR2 owners, who like to play racing games, then I'm quite sure, that most of them will skip new racing games, if theres no PSVR2 support.
I don't know, how many PSVR2 are sold... Some say 200 000, some say 300 000, same say more... But even with 200 000 sold PSVR2, I guess it's potentially 10 000 to 50 000 buyers lost for F1 23....
(maybe I'm totally wrong, of course). 🙂
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@Toy4584 You maybe right… But bug companies like EA will wait until it’s in the hundreds of thousands. Which is most likely next year which will make more sense as next years game will almost certainly be current gen only.
Like I said before companies like EA follow trends they don’t gamble by trying to set them. - @ScarDuck14 Agree!... Well - it's more about "politics", than selling... 🙂
And one more "point"...
Right now there are no "proper" PSVR2 racing games (except GT7)... To be honest - there are not many "proper" games for PSVR2 at all! 🙂
So - I'm pretty sure, that PSVR2 owners are "hungry" right now! Hungry for any "decent" game, even if they usually don't buy or play some genres... Like me - I bought Horizon, just because it's in VR...
I guess right now, if F1 will have PSVR2 support, there are plenty of buyers, who in "normal" condition will never buy racing games. 🙂
