PS5 - Throttle % Doesn't Match Trigger %

Product: F1 23
Platform:PlayStation 5
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition
Summarize your bug When I test my controller calibration, I get to 100% throttle when my trigger is only 85-90% squeezed. The last 10-15% is wasted motion. It's like I need to be able to set the throttle saturation to -15%. My friends all have the same issue.
What is your 16 digit Report Code?
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Spectrum
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use a PS5 controller.
What happens when the bug occurs? I get up to 100% throttle before my trigger is fully squeezed.
What do you expect to see? I expect my throttle shouldn't reach 100% until my trigger is fully squeezed.

  • @EA_rephii This seems like a pretty serious issue that impacts a lot of the player base. How are we supposed to be precise if the last bit of our trigger squeeze is irrelevant.

  • @StarGaznI previously reported the same behaviour on PC with a Dualsense controller and has a video displaying the issue, it was already bad before the patch, but got even worse after it: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/Trigger-Throttle-less-precise-since-patch/m-p/12660573/highlight/true#M1114

Instead of letting the user configure an upper dead-zone for controllers that might or might not be defect, they just seem to limit the amount of the trigger that can be utilized which is a very bad approach.

@dotazured It really sucks. It's hard enough as is on controller, and this makes it that much harder. I read a few of your responses under your post about slipping in low speed corners. I had that same problem until I moved my throttle dead zone to 30. Yes, you read that right. I find that the linearity setting I need to help my find 25% throttle more easily created too steep of a throttle curve later on in the trigger squeeze. The squeeze that used to be 50%, is now 25-30%, and my consistency has increased dramatically.
