Between that and the fact that after season one where the car has a performance delta of 140 points and in the second season is at best 90 points with 6-8 card actually squeezed in 30-40 points range (and the pilot of those car all capped at 100)

its like playing equal car mode 

luckily that is not my problem I am not nearly close to 100 ^_^ so in my case i could bump up difficulty by 10 or even 20 if needed

I shamefully want to keep this post on the first page and with attention.

So I am posting my latest experience with MYTEAM

2 Season - ONLY 10 races (100% race) to try to advance slower, less practice program, less RD

player RD - REDUCED / ai RD - STANDARD

player XP - REDUCED / ai XP - STANDARD

player TEAM XP - REDUCED / ai TEAM XP - STANDARD

player MONEY - REDUCED (on the first day of the first season to avoid bugs. See my post about it) / ai MONEY - STANDARD

Special RULE

* MAX 2 practice programs per race (total 20 practice programs/year)

It may have felt a little underwhelming the first year (but I liked the struggle of the first year). as it looked like I couldn't catch up with other cars (even if the gap between best and worst was closing from Delta 130 performance to Delta 70 performance)

but already halfway through the 2nd year, I had the best car! And that was trying my best to handicap my points. And even more sad, the delta performance of the car by the end of the second year was 50 points!

If you add this to 8-10 pilots being 100 capped because of the silly bonus, it gets really boring and flat!

I really wish I had the self control not to buy the game this year on my usual console and waited for my pc to arrive because sounds like the mods have improved since the last time I got one on PC. Being able to change driver stats and resource rates would literally improve my personal experience with career mode completely. On top of being able to use real driver models. I really don't want to give this game any more money to fix it with mods myself and not have the actual game be fixed properly.

it's a good idea to fix it on my PC but I think it's such a easy fix that we should push them to do it for everybody to enjoy

I wouldn't lower it; make a test run of a 10-race season (pick the 10 races you feel are your standard relationship with AI level) 5 lap race and one-shoot qualif

this is the best way to figure it out.

Starting already with a 23 race full and full and hoping to guess the ai level of difficulty is a waste of time nothing like trying it yourself and since you have a starting point use that as first test and figure it out after a very short first season.

So to highlight the difference the personnel facility boosts are making I've done some qualifying sessions at Bahrain on the same difficulty, same setup in GP mode and race one of Career mode and straight away you'll see the difference. I didn't take pictures of every session but I did five of each and the results were fairly similar.

I can only paste three pictures here but I have the second half of the field for all of these results. The first two are from GP mode (I'm playing Hulkenberg since his stats are just wrong) and the third is career mode. Other screenshots from career have Norris matching Alonso in them but I put this one up to show Russell grabbing pole.

First major difference is how much faster career mode is. Then having a look at individual drivers and teams:

- Mercedes and Ferrari, average out at around half a second behind the Red Bull's in GP mode (Perez sometimes only a tenth up and occasionally behind). In career mode, they fight for pole. Note in GP mode is that they occasionally get beaten by Alpine as well whereas in career this never happens.

- Aston Martin. Alonso's results are the big giveaway to how bad the stat boosts are. Fighting for 3rd in GP mode and usually about 0.4 behind Max but beating Ferrari and Merc. Career mode, consistently 7th/8th, usually 0.3 behind Ferrari and Merc and barely beating Norris in a faster car. 

Stroll is another big giveaway. Top ten consistently in GP mode, usually no higher than 12th and frequently on the cusp of Q1 knockout in career.

- Mclaren. Realistic results in GP mode (excluding the upgraded Austria, Silverstone results). Fighting Alonso for P7 in career mode from the start despite the car difference. Will undoubtedly be fighting for wins in season 2 or earlier. Piastri not very representative due to his stats being too low.

- Other teams, specifically Haas and Williams can fight better and for top ten in GP mode. Always Q1 knockouts in career.

So as we can see, the five teams getting +10 from the start are overperforming whereas the teams with +5 are underperforming. Aston and McLaren are the clear indicators here as to why having a massive permanent boost to all drivers is ruining the balance of career mode.

Please remove these boosts, Codies. Or at the very least, nerf them hard so they don't affect the results this badly.

Not only are those pictures obvious, but they are even worst in season 2 when the difference in the car has a little Delta (from 130 points to 70-90)

I have like 10-12 pilots in .5 sec. I will take a picture and come back is just crazy; they all have +10 first 8-10 cars are practically into 30 performance points I breath too heavily when doing the lap and lose five positions as they are probably -0.03 -0.05 - 0.06 -0.07

Thank you for sharing this. I picked the first screenshot (GP) and the third screenshot (Career) and quickly ran some numbers.

Should be obvious that Career Mode is quite faster, in fact, for these drivers, the average performance increase is 0.70% which is massive. To illustrate, the performance difference between McLaren and Williams in the last Silverstone GP was 0.656%. It is also easy to see that stats increasing up to 100 hurts the big drivers with very high stats, namely Verstappen and Hamilton. Alonso should be in this group but I think that being in Aston hurts more than his stats since Stroll also doesn't win as much as the likes of Perez, Leclerc, Russell and Sainz, all of them winning a lot more stats for being in the big teams but also being a lot closer due to capping.

Just to establish a difference everyone can understand I checked F1Laps with the average times. This is not very scientific because F1Laps relies on TT player times vs GP AI times but I couldn't think of a different way to do this. The average GP Quali time was 1:31.345 which renders a difficulty of 85 and the average Career Quali time was 1:31.703 which renders a difficulty of 95. I know it's not a good way to measure this, but it's a nice thought experiment and a 10 point difference is quite massive.

Yeah from those numbers you can see the difference the boosts make. All of those drivers except Alonso and Stroll are getting +10 pace whereas the Aston's get +5. I imagine you'll see Alfa, Williams and Alpha having the same pace difference as Aston.

I'll put the second half of those results here. First one is GP mode, second is Career although I probably didn't need to specify!

This is what happens in (a new started after update) Season Two, with me trying to slow RD as much as possible

All teams seem to be kind of slow as well (waiting for you to catch up)

and with all pilots the same strength, more or less, I have 11 players in 0.4

This has been raised year after year without even a recognition that it's a problem. It honestly feels like the person/team that coded the career mode left and nobody wants to pick anything up. Such an apparent easy fix to a big problem for years.

a) fix pilot bonus +2 +2 +2 (tot 6) - easiest to code

b) keep pilot bonus only for 2nd drive of player (remove it for all AI)

c) bonus for pilot >85 +1+2+3 and pilot 70-85 +2+3+5(tot 10) and <70 +5+5+5(tot 15)

d) facility only increase speed at which pilot get better (age matter)

e) a mix of D+A

From these choices, b definitely. That will give the option to those players that like them to still use them while those of us that don't can just shutdown the facility so all teams are even.

Failing that, reducing the boosts to +1/+3/+5 should be enough. (So at tier 3, the stat boost is a total of +5, not 8).

One thing for sure is that the official teams 100% should NOT get the stat boosts. Remove them from the AI, and it fixes a lot of the balance issues.

Throw in a stat editor and I think the vast majority of career mode players will be a LOT happier.

im still with @Liaveal suggestion of changing the potential etc. its the most realistic and should also be doable.. If not that then what he already replied, only for the Player team in MyTeam, nothing else, its just a broken, unrealistic system destroying other game mechanics..

I like that is only for our 2nd pilot and remove it from AI but again is good for pilot in the 60-70 I wouldn't keep it +5+5+5 if our pilot is already 80+ It would be a minor problem as only 1 pilot would be OP versus all pilots but I think think it should be tone down to a top bonus of +10 tier 3 (so something like +1+3+6)

I do hope someone from CM / EA actually reads this topic and takes note to try and fix the issue. 
AI boosts like this are abit ridiculous. 
The release of the driver ratings was a big thing, but what’s the point of EA releasing the stats of all the drivers before the game has been released when they all get boosts anyway so it’s all redundant!
