@void_snw it happens in time trial so it can’t be tyre wear
I don't know but having played F1 22, 21 and GT7 for many hours I'm almost sure it's not overheating. In previous games I have always had something higher and in the GT it was infinitely harder. I find it hard to think it's a temperature issue, but it would be nice for EA to investigate it and say something as soon as possible.

You can imply its heat as much as you want mate, I appreciate you're just trying to help but with the amount of people reporting issues it can't be heat, plus everyone reporting these issues aren't having trouble with F1 22 or other games even when playing for longer stints where it should get hot.
Theres something seriously wrong with FFB in F1 23.
@matty0blobberHi Matty, call me daft but I’m only experiencing “drop off” (as opposed to absolute loss of FFB) when I’m on worn/overheating tyres… we know the FFB does give you the “driving on ice” sensation when grip is lacking…. Are people getting confused with this, or do you think it’s an entirely separate issue? I could be wrong as one chap said he’s had the issue in time trial. But I’d be interested to know what would happen if someone with this FFB drop off immediately went restarted race without letting the wheel cool down. I definitely don’t get any sensation that my wheel is overheating.

I think the problem may be related to version 34 of the T300 firmware
I have downloaded the firmware v33 and nothing, the problem persists... this has to be a game failure.
What I can assure you is that it is not a problem of overheating, that's for sure. I've been testing it now and the temperature of the room is very low, the steering wheel fan is normal and it's not generating heat

Do you understand that what you're experiencing exactly matches what the wheel is specifically designed to do when it gets too hot? I get that you want performance to be better but I'm sorry I really don't think you've proved what you think you have. Note that as per the following post earlier in this thread it appears that changes to the in-game force feedback will make this occur more easily than with last year's game:
Possibly trying using a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from your wheel could help, although I'll be honest I suspect that it won't.
My T300 is completely new. For the last three years I have had another T300 that never gave any problems, but it broke and I bought this one again. I have also tried this new steering wheel in other games and it goes well, that is to say that the steering wheel is not broken.

That would depend how the thermal protection works which would be a question for Thrustmater. It might reset something to do with this.

As a test, I lowered my FFB to 35 (from 65) with wheel damper on 1 - to eradicate any possibility of the wheel overheating. I then drove a practice, qualy and 35% race - total driving time approx 1hr 20 - before the usual glitch kicked in and all FFB disappeared entirely. With these settings the wheel can be turned with a finger, obviously making driving ridiculous but certainly protecting the base from any potential overheating. Having tested it I would say that 55 FFB would be reflective of racing on F1 ‘22. As many others will tell you, I never had the slightest issues with FFB on that game, nor on Dirt Rally or any other games which put considerably more force through the wheel. It is also worth nothing that quitting the game and reloading immediately resets FFB to normal. It really could not be more obvious that the issue does not lie with the TX/T300 overheating. We need to ensure EA are aware of this and don’t think the issue lies with Thrustmaster.

I don't agree on the part in bold as honestly it still sounds like this. It just takes longer to happen when the FFB strength is reduced. There is a physical explanation for it this way that 100% fits with how it varies with FFB strength that I'm honestly struggling to see any logical way that the game software could have the same effect?
However, if the game is causing this at very low FFB strength settings as you describe then it may be that the FFB itself needs looking at. I will check the discussion here is on the team's radar. I will say that I suspect it must only be a few people affected though or this forum would have a lot more complaints about this. Obviously that isn't of consolation if you're someone that is having an issue though ☹️.

Others have said they can drive for longer with the FFB level reduced. If you really find it makes no difference then that's different and more confusing. I'd still honestly put money on there fundamentally being a hardware explanation though.
The more specifics anyone can give in this thread the better in terms of trying to help make progress on this.
I'm sorry but suggesting people turn FFB down low on wheels that they've paid a lot of money for purely for the FFB capabilities actually blows my mind.
We shouldn't have to turn it down to 10 or 20 strength to finish a 5 lap race with FFB, thats a joke of a situation.
People have repeatedly said it works fine on other games and even F1 22 but you're insisting its still heat...why?! It almost feels like we're being ignored now when we provide details about what is happening in order to avoid admitting its a fault with the game.
You've deflected the possibility that it could be the game or looked for something else to blame at every chance you've had, just admit it might be the game! no wonder people on here are getting frustrated.
People have said from release day that FFB is bugged yet we've been told its firmware, heat or even our settings to deflect the blame away from the game itself.
Besides the problems with FFB look at how many bugs there are! maybe there's a chance FFB is one of those bugs too ay? Just a thought.
It would be better if you told us to sit tight for the patch than tell us it's our hardware causing the issue, that's all we ask.
I also can't believe they're basically telling us to run low ffb on wheels we bought. Do they think that we're lying but all the other issues isn't lies? Bit * from EA/codies

Yeh I really don't get it mate, we have got people on here that genuinely wanna help us don't get me wrong cause there are some great mods on here, but lately it really feels like those replying just want to be right no matter what in order to deflect from the games poor state/launch and it taking the blame.
I'm not even exaggerating when i say this is one of the worst launched games I've experienced in my 25 years of gaming.
The game has so many game breaking bugs yet a few are acting like FFB isn't bugged in game too, baffling.
