Wet Weather

Product: F1 23
Platform:Xbox Series X
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox Series X
Summarize your bug Wet weather performance is terrible ive always liked wet weather races and never had a problem in the past and youd think with the better handling on this game that would make wet weather racing even better but no its so much worse, car will not stop or corner with a dam. (yes i know rain increases braking distances and the effectiveness of steering) but this is something else. the main problem is the AI dont have this problem they still flying round seconds a lap faster cars stop on a dime and turn as normal meanwhile i feel like the titanic approaching the iceberg knowing no matter how much i try to stop/turn i aint making it im having to crawl round losing buckets of time to the AI. Like i said if this is how its intended to be thats okay but it has to affect the AI aswell. this is making wet weather races unplayable. I have tried multiple cars and tracks and even on equal performance aswell it doesnt make a difference
What is your 16 digit Report Code?
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider?
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? play single player against the ai in wet conditions
What happens when the bug occurs? car becomes the HMS Titanic
What do you expect to see? a resolution either stop the car feeling like the Titanic in the wet or make sure the weather is affecting the AI to the same degree

unplayable wet weather races until this is fixed

  • @DanzaIsCrazy I have the exact same problem. It's really a huge bummer, I literally abondened my career mid-race because of frustration
  • Same thing happened yesterday.  Had my first race in wet conditions that clearly called for inters and everyone (including me) were on slicks (That's another problem lol).  Pitted for inters thinking I would just demolish them but I never gained any time and I felt like I was on ice and couldn't brake at all. Yet the AI weren't affected.  Restarted the race and stayed on slicks but still had the issue like I was on ice and couldn't stop.  Was extremely frustrating that the AI weren't affected at all.

AI isn't affected by physics and weather conditions, only their pace is adjusted to the weather conditions, so this is why they seem to be racing as if it was dry even though it's raining hard. AI needed to be re-designed or at least the chance of making minor mistakes needed to be increased under wet conditions, something like that.

  • Imola isn’t a big issue in wet weather. Feels like theres so much grip on that track even in heavy rain. But other tracks like Canada, Monaco etc…. They’re all a hell to drive in wet weather conditions

  • I have always found the wet weather to be way way off in every game. IRL lap times are like 20-30 seconds slower, sometimes more, yet they never seem to be more than 10 seconds slower in any CM / EA game made. I remember the old Geoff Crammond games, which I think has always been the best wet weather simulation produced. It could wet at certain spots, and totally dry in other parts of the track, and when it stopped raining, there was an actual dry line and it was still super wet off of it.

i just can’t understand how; after 20 or more years and technology and hardware advancing so much since then, no one seems to be able to / replicate this sort of weather behaviour.
