Would say that it happens when the game tries to switch between Big Screen VR mode to VR Car Mode? if so I already made a report for that and would probably be better to bunbdle similar issues together.
@DepatchMode This does not seem to be my case. It happens while driving and not changing the view. SteamVR also does not crash when I experience the game crashes.
