EAAntiCheat - again - causes crashes
Product: F1 24
Platform:Steam-PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
Summarize your bug The game (started via Steam) crashes at start or after some time in the game even when no button was pressed. When it is possible to start a race then the game hangs sometimes (mostly at the same position on the racing track) for a short moment and eventually crashes then. As reason the error log always states „EAAntiCheatService - Failed to obtain Origin directory“. Tests confirmed that it should not be caused by peripherals, services, other programs.
What is your 16 digit Report Code?
What peripherals are you using? Please list the exact make and model.
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider?
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start the game via Steam. Configuration with several SSD on a PC updated from Windows 7 to 10. EA WRC running successfully with installed EAAntiCheat.
What happens when the bug occurs? Game crashes to desktop
What do you expect to see? Should not crash
The error was already reported three times for F1 24 but no solution was given.
For testing I removed all peripherals and their software like G-Hub and iCue, in different constellations, disabled security software, removed nearly all non-Windows services including ASUS software and audio drivers+software, reinstalled and updated in all manners including EAAntiCheatInstaller, followed the proposals on this error from other EA games. Nothing works. I did not have this problem with EA WRC (but there the anticheat software crashed due to Asus Armoury Crate)
Perhaps it finds the directory when the game is started via EA app instead of Steam? Or wrong EAAntiCheatService directories are written in a config file? Or EAAntiCheat struggles with complex SSD configurations or old Windows installations (Windows 7 updated to Windows 10)?
