Enabling HDR causes the game to fail at startup

I originally posted this in general discussion and realized it should be in here. I'm going to delete it after reposting here.

Enabling HDR seems to trigger and error code and causes the game to fail at startup. On the next start up the game loads but HDR is disabled.

I only see an option for HDR10 now as well. What happened to HDR RGB?

3080ti - Latest drivers for F124.

AMD 5950X

Windows 11 with latest updates.

LG C2.

@Wiktorx11 Yep, quite frustrating. Especially as it's so easy to reproduce. I suspect it's because not that many people play with HDR.

Hey folks,

it's still being investigated. There are also some similar issues with HDR automatically turning off. It's possible that in both cases it could help to use windowed mode instead of fullscreen. Let me know if it that might help.

Hey @EA_Vendcera - Thanks for the update
I believe both are the same issue, the game fails at startup then automatically turns off HDR the next time you reboot the game. It always works on the second launch of the game, it's just decided to turn the HDR off.

Hi everyone,

this was a bit more complicated to fix than it seemed, but I still wanted to give you a quick update to let you know this will work now with the upcoming patch v1.8 on Monday.

HDR Settings will now remain the same after the game has been rebooted
