F1 24 Online Disconnection Issues

Product: F1 24
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One S
Summarize your bug When joining an online lobby with more than 7-8 players already connected, I am disconnected from the lobby. If I am not kicked from the lobby when joining, however, it is likely I will be kicked mid-race session. The bug is, getting kicked from the F1 24 game when I join a multi-player lobby, either while waiting in the lobby for a race to start, or if I am successful in getting to start a race, sometime during that race. On a very rare occasion, I will get to finish a race. I have noticed that if there are more than 7-8 players in the lobby when I join a race, I can join the race but get kicked from the lobby within 30 seconds. Similarly, if there are less than 7-8 players in the lobby when I join a race, I join the lobby without any issue but subsequently get kicked.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? ESPG-VKBG-HCTJ-GBEG
What peripherals are you using? Please list the exact make and model. Logitech G923 Xbox 1 S
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Exetel
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Barely anyone else seems to have this issue so no idea. Perhaps provide a script that can monitor game parameters that could cause the game to disconnect me, such as internet connectivity, etc.
What happens when the bug occurs? As seen in the video attached, when joining a lobby with more than 7-8 people already connected, I stay connected for a couple of seconds until I am disconnected and left in the lobby by myself. In the few seconds that I am connected to the lobby with the other players, I cannot select a car or team even if the session hasn't started. If I remain connected to the lobby and start the race, just before I get kicked (which can happen at any time) all other drivers will have a red X over their name for a couple of seconds and then a Migrating Host message pops up. The lobby screen pops up, which says everyone has left the lobby, and I'm the only one left. My ISP changed the internet connection to a static IP, which improved this issue dramatically, but only for 2-3 races; I could join the lobby regardless of the number of people in the lobby and seldom got kicked before a race started. I have been playing online F1 games since f1 2020 and have only been unable to join a lobby with more than 7-8 people since f1 22. I have also rarely disconnected mid-race in any other game including other racing games, except f1 24.
What do you expect to see? Being able to compete in league racing like I have been able to for the past 4 years without being kicked from every lobby/race.

  • I'm experiencing the same issue—it started about 2 months ago. I can't play online anymore; I keep getting kicked out of races with a 'reconnecting' message. My internet is very fast, so it's definitely not a connection problem. It's frustrating to be able to race every year without issues, and now this happens suddenly.

I've already had my provider investigate, tried changing routers, and even ran a LAN cable from my main floor to the basement through the wall. Still, nothing works. What’s even stranger is that I don’t get this error when spectating a race—only when I'm racing.

I've tried every suggestion I could find online, from setting up UPnP to adjusting NAT settings, but nothing has resolved the issue. I’m using an Xbox One with a Logitech G923, and this problem has completely ruined the fun of the game for me. Now, I’m stuck playing single-player and time trials. It's really killing my spirit for this game. This is unacceptable. now i have a new Rig coming, and i cant even play in league!

  • Hi, have you found a fix for this issues I've just started on 24 same setup xbox one and a g923. I figured it could be a console problem as my friend has the xbox series x and worse internet as myself but is racing fine?

Would appreciate any advice to get it back on the right track

  • Unfortunately no fix. It’s almost like Microsoft has pulled the plug on the Xbox. Forcing us to upgrade or have discontinued some of the supports it offers. So this is affecting Xbox older models on the G923 Logitech. The fact is there is an issue and we don’t actually know where to go and who to talk too.

  • We have the same issue and here is the kicker. We are currently playing F1 23, We are playing on PS and computer, the guys that are getting kicked are very random. Sometimes the pc players sometimes the Playstation players.
We have been hosting and doing this for the last 4 years and this is the worst it has ever been. last night the PC player got kicked, then a PS5 player after that. Probably related, but not sure, the PS4 players do struggle with glitches and lots of time mid race. Had a few races that they would lose connectivity too.

I’m hosting the race and chat from the Netherlands and we have players from South Africa. I was thinking that it could be the packet loss over the distance. Is there anyway to manipulate the server location?
  • I have the same problem started last week, as soon as I join the lobby and choose what car I'M going to race with about a minute later I get disconnected. I verified the files on steam I Uninstalled the game and installed again the same thing happens. Spend a lot of money for something that does not work must be the worst game ever. If I have the option for refunding me the money for the game I will take it.
