Multiple buttons (ERS, Radio, MFD, Manuel pitstop) not working

having issues in any race mode, whether that be grand Prix mode or on online multiplayer. Randomly different buttons will stop working during a race. So I have experienced MFD, Radio, DRS and ERS and manual pitstop buttons not working. The game recognises that the correctly assigned button has been pressed (as you can see the drivers hand moves to the correct button on the steering wheel) but then nothing happens when the button is pressed. So with ERS when you press the ers button it comes up on the screen that you are using it as the word 'disable' appears but the battery does not drain and stays at 100%. With both MFD and radio commands when the assigned button is pressed simply neither menu pops up on screen and DRS much the same as ERS when button pressed DRS doesn't work. Manual pitstop won't work on pitstop turn in so you get a 'late' entry everytime. The game is simply unplayable in this state. On PS5 using a Fanatec podium F1 wheel on a GT DD pro. This started since the most recent update. Wheel and wheelbase is all up to date. All buttons work on the wheel and work perfectly fine when navigating menus etc in the game, the issues are all when on track.

  • Hey everyone,

just wanted to give you all a quick update here, that this issue should be fixed with the coming patch v1.5 on Monday.

    • Fixed a rare issue which could prevent the player from using Engineer commands during a number of sessions

  • Having the same issue in career mode, sometimes when I ask the engineer for vehicle condition I just get no answer, and then sometimes the radio button won’t even work at all.

    Hey @jsDSR and @Perkipace,

thanks for flagging. That sounds a bit weird, and I haven't seen any other reports about issues with the buttons not working.

Could you two please provide some more information on what platform and devices that seems happening, as well as your Report Code?

Thanks for replying. I'm using the game on the ps5. I have a Fanatec GT DD pro (podium F1 wheel) which is all up to date. The issues only started since the recent update. The issues are random, so randomly in races whether that be in grand Prix or in online multiplayer (in the league that I race in) the buttons will stop working but not all at the same time. A couple of nights ago our league had a pre season race and my radio wasn't appearing when pressing the button (the radio menu simply didn't show up on screen) the drivers hand on screen pushes the radio button but nothing pops up. Also had the same issue with the MFD menu in that race. since the update the manual pitstop entry has never worked so always get a 'late' pitstop entry, I've tried assigning different buttons to these but doesn't matter which button I assign neither work. I know two other guys in my league who have the radio and pitstop glitch. One has the pitstop, the other has the radio. Last night I was going to do a grand Prix weekend and started a practice session and went to do a push lap and the ERS wasn't working. So once again the game seemingly gets the message as when I push my ERS button the drivers hand on screen moves to push the button, the word 'disable' pops up but the battery stayed at 100% and didn't drain. Unfortunately other than racing in TT mode the game is unplayable in any other mode as I don't know when the game will decide when it doesn't want a button to work. The two that I'm experiencing most are the radio and manual pitstop. The MFD and ERS more randomly but those two are crucial actions to use when on track and I'm not in a position to start the new online league season at the moment as I don't know if I'm going to have all my tools available in the car if any of the above actions just stop working mid race. Sorry I don't have a report code. All of the buttons on my wheel are working fine and when in the game cycling through menus etc they all work including the ones that I'm having issues with when I'm on track. I've never reported a bug before, how do I go about doing it? Thanks for your time. There is also another bug reported just a few below this one in HQ 'ERS battery deployment issue'

@EA_Vendcera I have two report codes for you but I'm having multiple issues with this game at the same time so not sure which is which but they are KDXM-MGXA-PAXC-JKSM and MKAD- SBSJ-EJXC-JKSM. tonight I have had issues once again with battery deployment not working and also a new issue where my throttle will only go to around 90% even though in Fanatec software the throttle is set up perfectly from 0-100% this is another new issue that has happened this evening. This game is completely and utterly unplayable for me now
