Personally the game's got great potential. I'm willing to give ea, codemasters time. I'm not playing a game at the moment.Cause I m not enjoying it because of the DRS train.

The AI are all Bunched up. It's too easy for me to follow and almost impossible for me to get away. The AI can overtake but then can't get away either. So it just goes backward and forward. Becomes very boring and lifeless.

Yep it does feel like it has good potential. The racing is just fundamentally wrong at the moment. I really don't understand why they push this "ERS Overtake" button so much. It feels so unrealistic to be using it out of corners constantly. I'm not a F1 engineer but from what we can see, overtake is used very sparingly in certain situations, not constantly throughout a lap. I really think it's the main cause of these issues.

I know and totally understand that it's frustrating. We've got some further improvements lined up that should come with an upcoming patch.

Lap 8 on a career race around Spa, this is how close all the cars are (it goes beyond the corner all the way to last place). Due to this they're incredibly slow around turn 1 as they all bunch up. I fully expect that it will just be like this until the finish. The first and second car will swap a few times and that's it, unless I want to go rogue and divebomb my way to P1, which I won't be able to keep without DRS.. 

I can't believe they released this gameplay. It's ridiculous.

Yes tracks like spa and red bull ring etc are ridiculous. The drs is massively over powered due to the lack of dirty air etc. You have to sit in a drs train the whole race as if you get to the front you just get overtaken again.

Hoping they just reduce the drs effect. It's by far the simplest solution at this point. They won't add dirty air as it will be off putting to men players.

I don't actually think it's the DRS that's the issue, I think it's ERS. The car at the front of the pack can always defend with ERS 'Overtake' which means that the car with DRS can't get past them on the straights. 

I think they need to reduce the ERS effectiveness and massively increase the recharge time and it might play ok again. 

It's not ers. It's the drs and lack of dirty air.

Look at the lap times of the race I just did. Lap 55-60 I'm struggling on old mediums slipping towards mid 14s. Cars behind catching around half a second a lap. I get overtaken on lap 60. From then on I can comfortably lap in 13s even though the tyres are getting worse and worse. I can stay with the car in front who was previously half a second a lap quicker. I'm thing less ers too. 

This is zandvort which isn't near the most drs heavy track either.

It should never be half a second a lap quicker to travel right behind another car than it is to have clean air.

Whilst this is the case we will continue to have non stop drs trains. 

I’m sorry but this is utterly ridiculous now. Coming up to two months since release and still these ridiculous trains are not fixed. 

Also, there seems to be no AI mistakes again? So since the last patch the game has got WORSE. They can’t overtake properly and make no mistakes so just follow each other in one big line. 

I usually blame the “suits” more than the devs but frankly I think the devs are now taking the p***. If they can’t fix it, hire people who can. How much was champions edition? £70/80? Disgrace  

Any update? There was no news in the latest patch. It’s been over 6 weeks since launch and still no improvement.

It's way too easy to follow the AI, but on the other side it's impossible to get away, i'm still stuck in the drs-trains, i can't break out if i was on first position, pls fix this

Totally agree. It makes the game unplayable. It's sucks all the enjoyment out of it. I would rather codmasters, take their time and get this sorted because it's bad.

Just done Miami and during the race i was thinking it’s actually been improved but then the race ends and verstappen who won was demoted to last for no reason and completely spoiled the race. I have raised another bug report for this.

As for me, I give up and uninstalling. I hope you fix the game in future for the people who stick around but I doubt it. 

F1 series is officially dead. RIP.

I'm not sure if anything has changed or if it's placebo. I have managed to pull away in 5th but I think that's because the cars behind were fighting through the chicane. 

This is lap 9/19 (pre-pitstops) around Monza (admittedly not the best test track for this issue). 6th-15th in one corner. 

Ok, i've just tried patch 1.7. Sadly they haven't fixed it. DRS/ERS Train is still a big problem.

This needs un-solving in the title. 

I stand by my earlier comment that I really think the ERS overtake is what's causing the problem. I've just played Bahrain on a brand new career race and yes the cars are bunched together but there was a Merc and RB battling with the RB ahead. The merc gets DRS onto the main straight with about 1-2 tenths at the start. He pulls ahead of the RB but then the RB engages overtake (no DRS) and pulls back ahead of the Merc. The Merc only used overtake for a few seconds at the start of the straight. The RB keeps the place.

That shouldn't be happening.. that never happens in a race. And you guessed it, they both have recharged overtake for the next corner, and the next, and the next..

DRS trains are definitely not fixed. In fact there is absolutely zero difference than before from my own experience.

I can not believe they released a patch to say it's improved when clearly nothing whatsoever has changed.

There is not one single aspect of this game I'm enjoying right now. It is absolutely miles away in terms of being even remotely half decent.
