Re: F1 24 3 files failed to validate

@SR_Comrade

If those files will not validate, your best best may be to fully uninstall and reinstall the game.

Those files would then be replaced with "fresh" ones.

Thanks.

  • Hi Barry. I’ve been having the same issue, except instead of a black screen the game just crashes/closes without any warning or error code. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Before launching the game I check that all game files have installed correctly. They have, all 3000+. Open up the game, being on the menu is fine. However, between 2-10 minutes into gameplay (time trail/Grand Prix mode) and it crashes again. I checked the integrity of the games files and it says that 3 files failed to validate correctly. And repeat.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thank you

  • Hi barry,

Please spare some time to look deeper into this whenever possible,

I too have this 3 files failed to validate problem and on scanning the internet have noticed alot of others do too.

Having gone through pretty much the entire checklist of maybe solutions nothing has worked.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility ea could provide a patch, anything to deal with it or is there a compatibility problem between steam and ea games that a workaround hasn't yet been figured out about?

I will keep the game installed in good faith that ea will provide a fix for this in good time,

Steam claim zero responsibility and suggest that ea are the only port of call for a fix.

Good man, and happy new 2025!

@Jam716uk Do you mind listing which solutions you have already tried? Speeds up the process if we know what you've already attempted.

same issue here, jsut created a thread about it. in my case it is the anti cheat. in event viewer you can see the details. in my case it is failed to obtain origin directory for the ant cheat service. check like this i know i am not alone in this. it happens every single time i play.

@mainseeker1486  The most common solution has been to reinstall the game. For some reason the 3 files become corrupted, but when steam attempts to validate them, it doesn't view them as corrupted and therefore does not repair them correctly.

@EA_Barrynot working. the game is broken both with the 3 files and the anticheat causing the game to crash

Can you upload anything so this error can be observed?

Still never witnessed it to see exactly what is going on.

the same happens to me, I've tried everything, I don't know why, but FC25 opens normally, F1 24 doesn't load, as they are games from the same company

I've already reinstalled Windows, Steam, EA app, and nothing solved it, the game just doesn't open and every time I go to check the files, it detects these 3 files, it's been 6 hours since I tried doing everything and the game just doesn't work

For me, the file integrity check in Steam always shows three files, too. But I do not have any problems with crashes or anything. Last week I did a fresh install after I deleted the game for a while, as I wanted to do some comparisons. I removed any remaining files and folders after uninstalling. The 3 "suspicious" files were already shown directly after the install. But, as said, everything seems to work without issues. So it may be the 3 files are not the reason for your problems.

    "Footage" *eagerly anticipates video*

    Stills....in Spanish. "English, mate."

Not even the names of files....🤔
