Re: Official F2 Series Part 2 - Spain - AI Broken

611 I think at the moment. But that dont have anything to do with it I think. It was way lower on series 1 of the F2 series.

I did the Series 1 with ease. Like average 15 second wins in all the F2 races there.

But series 2 is just madness. Cant even get close.

    @Phoenixx-90

I should have also asked what tech level the series 2 is set to, as I haven't unlocked it yet. But I know series 1 was easier.

F1 world revolves around tech level and gets harder the more you unlock. But your tech level is also improving.

For example, I know I can achieve the set goal being around 110 under the set AI tech level (obviously skill based so will be different for everybody), And completing series 1 of f2 it unlocked f1 series 3 which is 590.

So I know I will struggle if I tried that now at 379. But as you can see (in the picture) I'm nearly close enough to attempt Asia & Oceania short to help me try f1 series 3.

Hope that makes sense and helps you.

The tech level of the F2 race series is 760 at 0 added tech level (cant add or remove any tech level inside the F2 category anyway).

I have asked around on a few different discords, and people are saying that the AI is doing (close to) WR TT times with the F2 cars at 35% difficulty with 0 added tech level. Thats insane!

For some sort of reference, I can do any of the 'Solo & Multiplayer Events' daily races at 1150 tech level (thats with 150 added tech level) without too much trouble.

    Edit: added another picture below.

Here is an example at 1000 tech level.

@Phoenixx-90It looks like you're a skilled driver, and I'm not saying it's not a bug.

I've been doing a lot of F1 world today. And what I found was I was able to complete the goals in the F1 world car at 170 below the recommended AI level. But when it came to the official F1 and F2 cars, it was 80 below the AI level, so more than half.

I believe this is because in the F1 world car you get all the boosts attached to your car parts/team members. While in the official cars you don't.

So I still think you just need to make your tech level closer to the recommended level.

Edit: You can add level to F2, You've just got to go to an event that allows you to add it, add what you want then go back to the F2 event.

@DRudd13 It doesnt matter if its F1 World car or F1 brand car (Ferrari, Mclaren etc). I did the Arcade race in the daily at Monza, 5 laps in a Ferrari with none of the boost attached, with 150 added Tech Level (though that should not matter due to "equal or realistic" brand cars). I won by 22 seconds in 5 laps.

After that, I tried doing the qualifying multiple times, again, in the F2 series with world record time trial setups, tried finding race setups, and still could not get within 1 second of the AI in Spain. That was with the tech level set to 0, which was 760 as in the previous screenshot.

So again, tech level should not matter when it comes to official brand cars like F1 or F2 series.

I guess it does, but it shouldnt, and the F2 cars should definitely not be this quick in that F2 series when the difficulty is 35 and tech level is 0.

Im not saying the F2 series is easy or should be easy, but it shouldnt be impossible to win and progress from it.

Some telemetry screenshots below from various races: First one being the previous F2 race I won. 2nd being the daily Arcade race on Monza.

@Phoenixx-90 But the daily arcade race is just AI level 35 with no tech level. While the F2, you're trying to do is AI level 35 plus 760 tech level, which is a lot higher than your tech level.

@DRudd13 So what you're trying to say is that the daily Arcade race is plain 35 level AI, with no tech level modifier which equals lvl 35 + 0 tech level.

But the F2 series is AI level 35 + 760 tech level on top? How on earth does that make sense when in the Official F2 series part 1, the AI had like 560(?) tech level, when I had like 300(?), and I beat them by 22+ seconds in each 5 lap race? Doesnt make sense does it?

In this "broken" F2 series 2 (Spain, cause I cant get further), the AI has 760 tech level, I have close to 660 now, my level is much closer, but I still cant even get close to P21.

Im gonna stream and record the daily races and the F2 series today, gonna be interesting. 🤔

Heres some screens from telemetry in the Official F2 series part 1 in F1 World.

@Phoenixx-90 Yes, the daily has no numbers beside it, so it is just AI level 35. Gives everybody a chance of easy upgrades daily in case you're struggling on a level. And the other events all have numbers next to them, giving you the tech level of the AI. Then you have a tech level modifier to make it harder/easier.

And the sense to it all is not to benefit the player, but EA/CM to keep you playing their game as much as possible.

I've unlocked F2 series 2 now. It's 760, but I'm only 610 and won't be attempting it till I'm at least 680, or I'll be getting destroyed as much as you were.

@DRudd13 So basically its come down to this:

If your tech level in the F2 event is below 680 (or so), the AI is set to 110 difficulty.

First screenshot: The AI in the Official F2 series 2 race at Spain set to 35 difficulty, 760 tech level with 0 added tech level.
Second screenshot: The official F2 cars at Spain with the same qualifying, racing conditions and difficulty set to 110 (tech level not available).

They do pretty much identical times in qualifying...

    * More further down *

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, here comes the confusing part.

If your F1 World cars tech level goes beyond 700 (mine was 703 at this point here), the AI in the Official F2 series 2 becomes slower and is possible to beat again.
Just did the qualifying and race and was beyond puzzled as I did a "slow" qualifying, still came P1 and won the race with ease.

    Screens below...

First: Qualifying with slow/bad lap, P1
Second: Race result without any trouble or need to push hard.

So why on earth does the AI become slower in F2 races just because the players F1 World car becomes quicker???????? Hello????

@Phoenixx-90 First, kudos for the amount of detail you have gone into. I can't argue about your findings, either.

I've just been working out what level below I can complete the set goals on. F1 world car I'm now 240 below their tech level and I complete the main goals, finish position and fastest lap. But official F1/F2 cars are only 80 below.

I have no idea why they become slower, as I'm not privy to EA/CM calculations. Maybe it's just easier for them to programme it that way?

@DRudd13 Haha appreciate that, I have a habit of doing overly detailed research on stuff, and this game is no exception.

Its just really frustrating that a race category (Official F2 in this case) is based on numbers related to a fictional F1 World car which you can upgrade to become a monster of a machine.
But as you upgrade your F1 car, then the AI becomes scared and is like "fine just take the win". xD

I will definitely keep an eye out for more interesting (read: frustrating xD) findings in the future.

On your last point, if its easier to programme it that way, thats just incredible weird and lazy if so. It just doesnt make any sense.

I guess I can check this as solved, though its frustrating to have to grind and grind "normal" races and stuff to upgrade a F1 World car to race with F2 cars against AI in F2 cars.
At least now I can finally progress and unlock more F1 events in the 'series' tab of F1 World.
