Re: Throttle delivery is weak

Hi everyone,

I've separated your posts from the megathread to better get to the bottom of your weak throttle delivery issues.

I can ask the team to look into it some further, but some additional information would be helpful.

  • Platform:
  • Peripherals:
  • Firmware version:

Also, please let us know if your peripherals are connected through other means, like a USB Hub.

If you could upload some footage on YouTube, that would also be helpful to identify what's happening and when the game responds past the 40% input.

    • Platform: PC
    • Peripherals: MOZA R9 wheel base, MOZA SRP pedals
    • Firmware version: MOZA 1.2.1.7

Also, please let us know if your peripherals are connected through other means, like a USB Hub.  USB connections are direct into the PC; no hub used.

In addition, here is the link to my original bug post about this, with my Report Code (in the event the team can review telemetry from game sessions)

    @EA_Vendcera Take a look at IkoRein's post at https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/F1-24-UDP-Specification/m-p/13866560#M5878

He has developed one of the best telemetry packages for the F1 series. His comment is:

"Below is screen shot of the ghost (in Silverstone, F1 24 V1.6, PC, 60Hz) traces.

As you can see the Throttle and Brake input traces (at the top) are normal. (The blue line in the background is one of my own traces).

But the Gear, RPM and speed data reported by the game is totally messed up. It fluctuates wildly and "hardly follows" the real expected values.
As you can see e.g. , the top speed reported by the ghost is 477 (km/h). I hope this can be fixed."

In his post he has a graphic of the telemetry chart.

first thought it was handling i was sliding then i saw RPM is low and power delivery is weak thats why its feels not stable and slide all over the place

Thanks for the additional info! I've passed it onto the team to take a look!

  • Hi, I have the same throttle problem in F1-24 but I don’t have that problem in F1-23.  Just tested it.

The problem started after the last update 1.6

    I drive on PS5, T300, TLCM pedals.

I’ve had this problem also after one of the updates last year in F1-23 but that was fixed later.

Hope this helps in your surge.

    Greatz from The Netherlands

    John

  • There seems to have been an adjustment to something in the handling in 1.7 that makes this issue slightly less noticeable on a wheel, but the issue is still present, and RPM response is still not working correctly on any car.

@GrumpsMcDumps What I have noticed is that suddenly the brake pressure increases - and the car slows down or reacts slowly to the throttle. This is particularly obvious on long straights that have DRS because it seems that when the brake pressure goes over 5% (or even higher) either you can't engage DRS or it disengages. This is clearly seen in telemetry data (I use Iko Rein's version) and have several different laps showing that I have the throttle at 100 and the brake percentage will come on and stay on sometimes reaching close to 10% in v1.7.

This is better than the 1.6 version of the software when it would go as high as the high-teens. That was on the Miami track. On the Spa track it has been in a pretty consistent location in the start finish straight - and it is easily seen by not being able to engage DRS - but the brake percentage doesn't get into the teens. It has also become more frequent unfortunately. This would seem to validate your observation. But having the brakes randomly engage is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. I filed a bug report on this.
