A Few Gameplay Suggestions to Improve the Experience

Hi all,

sorry for the long read but I Just wanted to share some feedback and a few suggestions that I think would really improve the overall gameplay experience. To start on a positive note — this year’s game is a big step up from F1 24. I actually find myself wanting to play it, whereas I gave up on 24 after just a couple of weeks.

That said, here are three areas that I think could impove the game:

1. Ranked Play – 25% Distance & No Auto-Reset

This is a big one for me. Ranked races need to be 25% distance, or at the very least give us the option. The current 5-lap format just doesn’t offer enough depth or strategy, and feels a bit pointless. Ranked used to be my go-to mode, but now I don’t bother with it.

Then there is auto-reset to track, this shouldn't be allowed in ranked in my opinion. It’s supposed to be the competitive mode where skill matters. Right now, it just gets abused and takes away from the challenge.

2. Switching to Reverse Mechanic (auto gears)

If you're using auto gears, going into reverse should require a second press of the brake after releasing it. Right now, if you spin out and try to hold the brakes to stop the car, it often throws you straight into reverse — which can launch you back onto the track or into a wall, making the situation worse.

A small tweak to this mechanic would go a long way in helping players fully stop the car and recover safely from spins.

3. Show Tyre Wear for Used Tyres

A small but important one: please show the wear percentage for used tyres on the MFD. At the moment, you can’t see the condition of any previously used sets, which makes strategic calls (like during late safety cars or unplanned pit stops) much harder than they need to be.

Would love to hear others’ thoughts — and hopefully the devs are keeping an eye on feedback like this. The game’s on the right track, and little improvements like these could make a big difference!

Cheers! And again if you've made it this far sorry for the long post.

I have no idea, but let's hope they read us here on their official forum 😅

Thanks for responding, and im glad you agree about the tyre wear. Do you have any idea how to get this heard by the devs? I think it should be a really easy thing to add to the game codes. But then again, I'm not a dev am i haha 😆

Thanks for the reply, do you have any idea how we can get this opinion noticed. I was moaning about it last year and seemed so was others but devs seemed to never see or respond to the point at all. Hopefully we can make some noise about this and get it changed.

I acually quite like the divisions, but I don't think there working properly purly because of the lack of people regularly taking part in ranked, I recon most people do what I do, play one ranked race to see if its changed yet.

  • My vote is for knowing how worn the tires you want to install are.

    1. Add a free practice mode or, in time trial mode, the option to run laps in the rain or under different track conditions (adding the option to choose tires and wear).
    2. Add/merge RaceNet in time trial mode and be able to view and analyze the lap from the pit lane, comparing it with the best laps.
    3. Have the circuit map on the pit lane screen show you DRS zones, DRS detection zones, speed traps, and sectors like the map used in F1 (it's good to know the DRS detection zones, for example).
    4. In time trial mode, be able to see your laps (all the ones you ran in the session).
    5. Be able to choose the body for your F1 World car (giving you the option to use the one for all 10 F1 cars, and you choose the base, then paint it to your liking, with the car's sound and sidepods). , winglets on the base car you chose)
    6. Team orders in driver/my team mode (I had a race where my teammate had a 10-second penalty and he was defending my position just as aggressively as the entire AI when he was about to fall behind me due to the penalty and I lost a whole lap trying to overtake him and ended up two tenths of a second away from the podium)

Showing the % wear of a used set of tyres on the MFD is a MUST have feature as well. Great spot!
I was caught out by a poorly timed safety car in a league race on Sunday, and it completely ruined my strategy because I only had a set of ‘used’ mediums left, and I didn’t know how used they were, 10%? No problem, I can get those to the end of the race, 60%? They’re already dead…

Instead, without that info, I had to stick with my hard tyre for a few laps after the restart before putting for softs, which dropped me from P3 to P18 with 7 laps to go. All because I didn’t have the right info to help me decide on a strategy switch.

    Great feedback!

Ranked mode should have 25-50-100% options and reward drivers for competitive racing skills. A 5 lap race is not competitive, it’s a crash-fest mad dash to the flag and hope you don’t get wiped out by a few kids that don’t know how to brake. All skill and race craft goes out the window. Setups and strategy mean nothing. If you get damage, it’s race over, because you’re not going to recover 20-30 seconds in 3-4 laps, especially when you get stuck at the back with the crash-kids.
I don’t play public lobbies for that very reason. 5 lappers should be for a casual/unranked mode.
I used to browse for 25-50% lobbies on older games but they switched up the menu search for F1 2015 and it’s never been as user friendly or useful for finding a race you want.
This hopper style system just encourages frustration getting thrown into a random lobby of 3 drivers who hop in and out every 5 seconds and you never get a race started.

Why am I restricted to using just 3 tracks as well? Why can’t we race on all available tracks?

I get the idea of progressing through divisions as well, but according to my game menu right now, there are 6,613 players in the Bronze division, and so I’m only getting put into races with 2 other players. I imagine the pool of drivers decreases as you progress up the pyramid of divisions.
    This needs a rethink!
