Will My Team have more customization options like multiple liveries, ability to edit car number colours, more emblems, choices in polo design, choice in pitcrew clothing and helmets?
Hey there,
Gavin is currently having issues with his forum account, so I'll be posting his answers on his behalf, so we don't keep you waiting 😄
Short answer: yes!
Longer answer: In terms of car liveries, there'll be more starter liveries unlocked by default at the start of the game than there were in F1 24. Additionally, there'll be a number of title sponsor liveries (more compelling livery designs based around the visual identity of our updated stable of title sponsors) that can be unlocked through play - by building relationships over time with the title sponsors in My Team 2.0.
Car numbers are now customisable. You can select from a number of different fonts, and you can change the colour of the numbers. You can change these independently for nose/side (so you can ensure that the number stands out from the background, even if the numbers happen to be sitting on different coloured portions of the livery).
In terms of badge emblems, the system is broadly unchanged - but we are introducing a new range of emblems on top of the standard designs. These are more artistic/authored than the existing designs, they have a bit more identity to them. Players who played F1 24 will get a couple of these when they first boot up the game as a thank you.
I can't report any major changes on the team clothing front, but you are now able to specify the teamwear colours separately to the overall team colours (this helps players who might want, say, a couple of colours to feature in the team's branding, but want the clothing to focus on a specific one of those colours - where previously the clothing was coloured automatically, sometimes it may not have prioritised the colour you wanted it to).
Finally, in terms of helmets, we're exploring improvements to the philosophy of how we design these. While we'll still have some more simplistic/abstract designs, we're also looking to offer a number of helmet designs authored in a more authentic fashion - using our new catalog of sponsor decals to densely populate the design with brands/logos, resulting in a look that is much more consistent with how the official drivers' helmets look.
