F1 and F2 car performance

The performance of F1 and F2 cars needs to be improved. The F1 cars need to be made faster, and the 2024 F2 cars slower.

I'm including a table with the actual qualifying times for F1 2025 and F2 2024. The SI 100 times are shown next to them, as they are theoretically expected to be close to the actual times. It's clear that there are significant performance gaps at various tracks (Belgium, Qatar, Great Britain, China...).

The 100 difficulty level is intended to reflect the real-world level of F1. Levels above 100 (101-110) are levels where AI cars are illegal (lighter, have lower suspension that we can't adjust, and have other settings that improve their performance). Therefore, the technical level of the cars and the 100 difficulty level of the AI should be very close (ideally identical) to those in real Formula 1. This table shows how much the cars' performance (lap time) falls short on various tracks. It's not about the AI's speed, but the cars' speed (their performance).

When we begin our F1 career, we have a chart comparing the performance of all teams. It shows that the best teams are above 600. Since, at this level, F1 cars in the game are slower than real ones, we need to raise this level. Perhaps by 200. However, after the first season of our career, there should be significant changes to the regulations (just like in real F1), and the cars should then lose performance so that they can be improved in subsequent seasons.

Of course, the performance of individual teams also needs to be adjusted.

The results in the tables indicate that the biggest problem occurs in Belgium. The F1 loses as much as 6 seconds at the SI 100 level. And in F2, it loses half a second, even though on other tracks, the F2 2024 at the SI 100 level is much faster than the real 2024 F2.

Perhaps, in addition to improving the technical level of F1 cars, we should look at track grip, perhaps tire grip, or something else that affects performance.

In Belgium, in Time Trial mode, I managed a time of 1:43.9 in an F1 car (better than the SI 110). The graph shows that F1 cars are at a level of around 600. However, in my F1 World car with the maximum technical level of 1000 (and in the PC version 550), I achieved a time of 1:39.8 (in race mode, not TIME TRIAL) . This shows that increasing the technical level by 100 translates to about 1 second faster times.

Add an AI calculator next to lap times to TIME TRIAL. This will allow us to choose the appropriate AI level. It will also help us compare in-game times with those in real F1.

  • F1 25 was so neglected that this year we didn't even get a performance update. We didn't get a correction to the team power orders.
