[Feature Idea] Track Reference Maps to Improve Race Tips & Strategy
Hi there!
I've been playing F1 24 for a few months and am still learning the circuits. One frustration I've encountered is that the game frequently refers to specific corners by name or number, yet it doesn't provide in-game reference maps to show their exact locations.
Without a clear reference, players—especially newcomers like me—must search online for track maps, hoping to find an accurate and up-to-date version. Since track layouts and corner names can change over time, older maps may not fully align with the game's current state. If a tip says, 'You should go flat-out in XXX corner', but that corner has been redesigned or renamed, applying the advice becomes unnecessarily confusing.
F1 25 continues this trend, but I believe there's an opportunity for improvement—whether through an update or in future installments of the series. For example, here are two screenshots from the game: an email which references Silverstone's 'Becketts' and 'Maggotts' corners, along with its associated attachment. While the attachment could have been helpful, it unfortunately lacks useful information. This issue occurs frequently across multiple circuits, making it difficult for players to connect race tips with actual track locations
Wouldn't it make sense for F1 25—or future editions like F1 26 or F1 27—to include detailed reference track maps in the game menus, complete with corner names and numbers? This addition would make it much easier for players—especially newcomers—to follow commentary and racing tips more effectively. As a potential enhancement, these maps could also showcase DRS zones, sector divisions, elevation changes, speed traps, and more, making them even more valuable for refining race strategy.
I'd love to hear what others think—would this feature enhance your game experience ?
