My Team - Simulating qualifying always puts selected driver in last

I've noticed that every time I simulate qualifying in my team, the selected driver always starts in last place. I have upgraded my team to the 5th best on the grid, so I don't understand why this is happening. The other driver in my team always qualifies in line with what I'd expect.
