Not really impressed so far...

Hi guys,

now, as much as I'm excited for purchasing F1 25, I also have to admit that I'm not impressed with the deep dives we had so far.

Don't get me wrong, My Team 2.0 is a huge change in the mode we know and love. The thing that worries me is the drastically decreased amount of icon drivers we can pick. For example, where's Casper Akkerman from F1 23? I think he'd still be great despite being pretty old. Or what about Nyck de Vries, Felipe Drugovich and Theo Pourchaire, three former F2 champions that will probably never get a chance in real life that we can give them in the game? It's just not fair to cancel these guys out even though we know that they deserve a drive.

About driver transfers, it's nice that icons can join AI teams now, but it would be nice, and someone said that under the latest deep dive video, manually decide which driver goes where to mix things up, kinda like in F1 Manager 24, in which you can change the lineups at the start of a new career.

Same thing with the calendar. It's cool that we can add reverse tracks to the calendar, but it would be nice, and we asked for this since the 2021 game, to change the order of the races so that we say start in Brazil and finish up in Suzuka, or put Bahrain into the summer and Monaco as one of the last races. Moreover, we need to be able to decide which races are Sprint weekends. Bahrain suits more as a Sprint weekend than Qatar does, and China doesn't offer enough overtaking spots to be worthy for a Sprint. It's another thing that F1 Manager 24 offers, so why not add it to the racing game as well to mix things up every season?

Customization looks good though, and the fact that unlike in EA SPORTS WRC, more sponsors on the car means more income makes sponsor management much more important.

We'll just have to see what's next, and I'm certainly gonna purchase the game to see what it's like, but so far, I'm not 100% convinced that F1 25 will be the bang that we're looking for.

Let's just hope for the best and see what happens.

  • I'm a bit disappointed by the deep dives, too. So far all they have shown us in Deep Dve 1 is some new menus in My Team, and a Decal Editor. In Deep Dive 2 they just showed us that the game contains all the drivers and some new trees around the circuit.

Don't get me wrong, these are very welcome additions, but we've had very little in regards to handling, AI racing, new features for the On-Track Grand Prix Experience. I'm not just talking reverse racing either, I'm talking Race Engineer interaction. Weather radar. Strategy options. Dynamic Weather with a Live Track that develops puddles, marbles and a wet/dry line. I want a return of the spray and mist in wet weather. Return of Wet Time Trail? Revert back to the F1 24 dial/HUD too. This new one is AWFUL!

Personally, from what I saw of the DEEP DIVES that were presented, I rather liked the new features, especially for MY TEAM.

The work on the circuit's realism is a good thing, even though not all of the tracks have been laser scanned.

I think the handling will still be better than F1 24 and more stable, even if it won't be perfect.

The BREAKING POINT mode isn't one that particularly interests me, but the immersion and story seem clean.

There will certainly be things to fix upon the game's release, as there are every year.

Let's wait to see more gameplay before judging this F1 25, even if we can't expect a huge improvement. There are still some interesting things to discover from what I've seen.
