Developers, you urgently need to add more classic idol drivers to the game, Rosberg, Lauda, Piquet, Fangio, Emerson Fittipaldi, bring back Prost, Mansell. With My Team 2.0 it would be great for teams to hire these legends.

It could be released as a classic idol pack, 3 drivers per pack (DLC).

So whoever wants more drivers for My Team can buy the packs... Do it. 🙏

  • I'm always abit hesistant when people advocate positively for DLC.  It just means that the better stuff gets locked away from those that have less money. Tbh, they'd end up having like £6.99 packs for 3 drivers and it'll cost more than a game in order to get them all.

However, I can see them doing a series of packs like you suggest eventually.

Early 2000s will have Schumacher, Hakkinen and Coulthard.

Then you'd have one for the early 90's with Senna, Prost and Mansell.

You get the idea.    I'm not personally a fan of that model but it's free-money when people are desperate enough to pay for it.

I imagine some of the issues comes with image rights, royalties and things like that.  So it's not just a case of them cherry-picking random drivers they've liked over the last however long and just including them. There'd be some groundwork in making it actually possible.

On a tangent, if I had creative control, i'd go a different direction.  I'd bin off the legends from the MyTeam (and F1 game) and go for more realistic drivers.  So drivers like Mick Schumacher, Vandoorne, etc.  You know, drivers of the last 10 years or so who could reasonably still drive in real-life so the immersion still works.  Chuck in Mazepin and Latifi and there's a super-team waiting to happen!   So Vettel and Raikkonen would be there too!    Or, failing that, just a deeper pool of F2 drivers over the last few years that didn't make it. (like Markelov, Pourchaire, Shwartzman, Ilott, etc) but I don't think that'd have the same interest with the casual fan.

Then, with the legends, i'd have an entirely different and more arcade like game.  Something not too dissimilar to the race stars game from about 12 years ago where it's not supposed to be taken too seriously and you can just get loads of different drivers from all eras.

However, I get that most people who play the game who have spare pennies are of a certain age-group and would want a less-arcade feel to the game and those that wouldn't mind an arcadey-feel would probably be less interested in the old-school drivers.

I wonder if there were 20 legend drivers people would want incorporating into the game, then whom would be in everyone's 20.
