Podium Pass NEEDS TO IMPROVE
Has anyone noticed that Podium Pass Season 7 on F1 24, which is currently active, does not contain a single customisation item? It's entirely F1 World bits, and some pitcoin thrown in. No helmets, no liveries, no suits or gloves, no podium emotes. The VIP tier costs 9,000 pitcoin and only gives you back 7,500 after grinding every single level. That is not worth the player's time and it is not value for money.
I'm not here to complain about microtransactions or tell anyone not to buy it. It's a modern game and that's just the way things are. Like it or not, the gaming industry is a business that has investors and shareholders, and these studios need to find ways to generate more profit. It's understandable and it's here to stay! But the consumer needs a product that is valuable if you want to convince them to pay up! If the helmets and liveries were better quality, like in previous games, I'd throw my money at Codemasters/EA. Infact, I bought more than half the helmets in the F1 23 store!
Podium Pass was introduced in F1 2020, and each 'Season' would contain, on average, 6 Helmets, 13 Liveries, 13 Gloves, 10 Suits, and a handful of Emblems and Pitcoin, across 38 levels. 13 Liveries to unlock in 1 season? Do we even have that many TOTAL in F1 24?
F1 2020 Podium Pass Season 2 Review (Very Positive!)
Compare and contrast to F1 24, where each 'Season' cheekily would start its first few levels with a Livery, Helmet, Suit and Glove, with half the set locked behind the VIP Tier, then you'd have nothing but F1 World Bits until you've grinded the game all the way to Level 47-50 where you'd find another set of Livery, Helmet, Suit and Glove with half locked behind the VIP Tier... F1 24's Seasons contained on average 2 Helmets, 2 Liveries, 2 suits and 2 gloves.... and 21 F1 World Bits. As I mentioned above, Season 7 contained 0 Helmets, 0 suits, 0 liveries and 0 gloves.......
F2 24 Podium Pass Season 3 Review (Angry feedback)
There is NOTHING in Season 7 to incentivise me to try and play the game to unlock levels and earn rewards, because there are NO rewards. What is there to convince me to pay 9,000 PitCoin to unlock a VIP Tier, which has nothing but F1 World Bits?
F1 23 introduced the 'Store', and I loved this!! Whilst I really enjoyed unlocking new liveries and helmets, I used the exact same design and colours from F1 2020-23 in my League Racing career. 4 years I used the same helmet as an identity. I was able to purchase this on Day 1 of F1 23! Brilliant!!! But it was missing from F1 24....... I was so disappointed. Ok, I'll find a new design. But the store was EMPTY!! Just 3 bog standard and uninspiring designs to choose from..... No thanks! Add to that disappointment the fact that podium pass only contains 1-2 new designs and updates every 2 months, and the chances that I'll find a helmet I like becomes very slim.
Why was F1 24 so bare of contents compared to F1 23? Why did players who bought the Champions Edition have to start their new My Team saves with just ONE livery option? Wasn't the purpose of the game mode to create your own team and identity? With just ONE livery available, you just look like everyone else! Why could the F1 23 store contents not be copied over? Where did these designs go?
Barebones F1 24 helmet choices a few months after launch
F1 23 store on DAY 1
I bought the Champions Edition last year because I wanted the 18,000 PitCoin in the hopes that I would raid the helmet store. We are now 1 week away from F1 25, and I still have all 18,000 PitCoin, because there was nothing to spend it on....... How has that happened? I have not pre-ordered the Iconic Edition for that very reason, and I'll be picking up the standard edition. I'll need to see a MASSIVE improvement in the quality and quantity of Customisable Items before I part with some extra money. F1 25 NEEDS TO BE BETTER!! If nobody is spending their 18,000 pitcoin, then they're not buying more!!
Stop giving us a billion F1 World Bits. You get these thrown at you in overwhelming amounts just for playing the game. We don't want them in Podium Pass!!!! I would love to see the stats on how many players actually play and enjoy F1 World, and I would wager that a good 75% of the player base do not care or even know what to do with 900 insights and rare upgrades......
I hope that is some fair and honest feedback to the devs. Comment below your thoughts on the state of podium pass and the huge decline in quality of content and value for money, and since you can't have Polls on here, comment if you play F1 World and are happy to see it back and dominating the podium pass.
