Racing is not currently possible
Today, trying to race in multiplayer is very hard. Whenever I join a public lobby, there's some kids playing on playstation or xbox that are ramming into you, trying to always make you crash and destroy one of your front wheel. There is currently no report system for griefing players, only for some boring EA id and so on. It is very frustating waiting 5 minutes for session to start and to be touched by other dirty driver, while you get spun and they are driving further like nothing happend.
There has been so many F1 games and in big 2026, there is no way to get any satisfaction from racing, except by joining some league. But today no one has time and patience for joining some league and only play 3 races a week on selected days on some evening. Wanting to race clean should be accessible for everyone whenever they want and they have time. There is no even any public API for F1 25, that could allow developers to make their own ranking systems, easy and efficient way to do private races. F1 25 is a nice game and sometimes gives some satisfaction, but it lacks a way to be able to race more than 2 laps in public lobby. and filtering by drivers license does nothing, because you'll always be D, because game tells that it was your fault.
The other main problem for me, is searching for multiplayer lobbies. There is no way to filter out sessions that are currently in the race, it just shows all sessions and you have to scroll throught them to find one you could join... That just blows my mind that UX is so bad there. even if you select assists restrictions to high, you'll still see games with traction control on full, just ERS, DRS and PIT assists off...
Summaring, except fixing filtering system in multiplayer open lobbies, there should be a way to race clean any time you want. I'm not talking there should be now a new ranking system, but even some API for F1 25 will be enough. It will allow developers, influencers, anyone, to easily build online communities, for example in a web app or discord, so they can race and preferably build their own ranking system. There's an example of how that API could work (external app = website/discord/mobile app):
- connect your external app account with EA account.
- Now you can just click a button on external app to join some race for you.
- You get joined on your game to that session, without manual invitations, any effort.
API should include creating sessions, joining clients, race results via webhook, etc.
