Wet Weather - Engine Stutters low gear

Hi,

Just recently got F1 2025 on PS5, and noticed a strange thing with my engine rev's. Just done China GP in my Mercedes and with rain condition. And noticed that when racing the engine rev's keeps stuttering. in lower gear, really after a while get annoying. When racing in dry conditions engine sound fine. Any clues?

  • Do you have a clip to show an example? It sounds like you just have wheelspin and a loss of traction. Usually if you are running Full TC and try going full throttle on exit in the rain, the car will just bog down and stutter like that whilst it tries to grip up. Try easing on to the throttle gently or increase your throttle linearity in the settings

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I thing what you say running on full TC is what I have. As you can see from image I got no setting done on my controller (PS5) what would you recommend in setting? I'm currently driving the Mercedes.

  • Definitely traction control. Turn it off then see how the revs behave. TC is sometimes designed to keep revs low to prevent too much wheelspin, and it is obviously easy to get wheelspin in the rain. Not really an issue, that's just how cars behave. For example I drive GT3 cars with TC relatively low to prevent wheelspin coming out of corners, but if it is too high, the car struggles to accelerate, especially at the first chicane at Monza.

If you are comfortable with it, try using Medium TC as you're on a pad, or increase your throttle linearity to 30. Some people will say turn TC off, but you're on a pad and it requires a lot of skill, so you use TC if you want to!

I think going over 50 on the linearity, as suggested above, will just dull your initial throttle input and lose you so much laptime. It would probably also encourage you to be slamming the triggers on full, which won't teach you smooth modulation in the long run. Try 30, it's what I used to use, an i gradually moved to Medium TC and 0 linearity for 1 to 1 input feel
