Well offically the game is considered "Simcade" rather than Arcade and generally speaking most of the complaints I see are people saying the game isn't realistic enough. The reason there's so many crashes in online matchmaking is because people don't take it seriously. Replacing the proximity arrows with a radar isn't going to change that.
Typically, people who are looking for a serious racing experience join a league as it's much easier for a small community like that to hold it's members accountable for clean racing.
