If I buy F1 2022 on Steam, can I play with my friend who bought it on Origin ?

Origin and Steam will not be able to play online together. When crossplay is introduced later in development, then all platforms can play together in supported crossplay modes (Social Play and Two-Player Career modes)

Yea they do not care one bit because if they did, they would respond and commit to a date when this would be fixed. It is not within their best interests to do so because all those that play in a league have to buy this game twice.
I hope that other developers are taking note and I hope that EA one day will come to its knees because they rob their customers.
I tried that, they told me to get lost, basically.
Even after I pointed out that before ordering the game there was no indication that Steam and Origin would be anything other than PC. It just does not make sense.
I'd like a refund too, these are simply just scam practices.
There are barely any ranked players available on Origin.
I only get lobbies of 3 or 4 players and cant play the league races.

I'm pretty sure the pre-launch info. was crossplay was only planned for social lobbies and 2-player career so I wouldn't expect any more personally.
