@MikulitsiThey changed it for this year.. You are right regarding last years game but F1 22 is C5=Ultrasoft@Meza994 And C4 is supersofts in F1 22 unlike in F1 2021 right?

@ActuallyImJulie I was here just screenshooting and making quick notes on the phone to log it properly later on my files when I came across the graphs. You're wonderful!
While you're at it, would you mind sharing the power vs engine speed curves again after the 1.6 update? Would love to check the optimum shifting points again. Haven't put that many hours in the game since the patch 🙃
- ScarDuck144 years agoLegend@mariohomoh I love it when you think off things I could really use. I’m only having to shift up 567 and still can’t get it right: But getting used to it. But my thumb isn’t. Keeps locking up after half hour or so and it hurts when unlocking. No can’t bind to R1or L1 my index fingers are worse

@mariohomoh Highest power output at 11.5k revs and almost as high (0.15% less) at 12k, 12.5k already 3.3% less ICE power output than 12k if thats what you want but im sure @ActuallyImJulie will happily give you the whole rundown anyway
- ScarDuck144 years agoLegendGuys I do completely understand your love off going through the game files. And looking at how it works and coming up with different ideas and then posting and explaining what you’ve found helps the likes off me.
I have to do my team every which way until I know best way to progress that’s suits me.
But apart from testing the mods you come up with. Do any off you actually play the game as intended? - mariohomoh4 years agoHero (Retired)@ScarDuck14 Haha I'm on console as you know and though I love myself some spreadsheet work, I rather spend my time playing.
Things like the power curve is always lovely though as it is actionable data. You get your peak power, the drop-off shape and boom - in an instant you've got the power band all laid out in front of you and can get a better sense for upshifting and shortshifting both.
It actually reminds me of Gran Turismo and how new events would be released. You'd always see someone come running like "guys, guys! Take this Gr.3 car, slap on the high RPM turbo on it and you'll destroy the competition!" just to have someone on the same week moaning about how "this game is broken! I took that same Gr.3 car, fitted the turbo but now I'm literary spinning if I dare as much as look at the kerbs funny!" Lo and behold, the torque curve got shapeshifted into a skyscraper monstrosity 🤷♂️
The tyre data actuallyimjulie brought, same thing. Even plotted on a chart and all that, you can quickly check against the tyre strategy chart the game gives you on race start and have better parameters for when the "new strategy available" Jeff line pops up. @mariohomoh Lucky for you I already had it in my spreadsheet. On the left is RPM, in the middle is the actual value in the files (Watts), and on the right is HP for readability.
And a graph for good measure.
As @DavidG53 has pointed out, the power drops off too quickly after the peak window, so shifting quite early is important. Do not trust the rev lights anymore, they are basically useless.
Edit: After looking into it a bit more, 11700 seems to be a good shifting point, assuming RPM drops by a maximum of 1200. I don't drive with the RPM overlay, so I can't tell you what to look for in terms of rev lights, but if I had to guess, it's probably the first or second blue light on a Ferrari.@Meza994 I just wanted to point out, the RPM values in the files don't line up with what they look like they should. You can tell by the LimiterRotationRate, which you would expect to be 1300, but is instead 1361.4. Reduce the numbers in the files by roughly 4.5% to get the real RPM value.
- @ScarDuck14 Well, I definitely don't play "as intended" when I'm modding the game, but I do play. About 73 hours so far this year, and a collective 1000~ since I first started in 2019.
I can't really help myself, I find something in the game that I'm unhappy with, and when the files are right there to play around with, how could I not? I just want the game to be the best it can be. - @ActuallyImJulie If i would have the modding skills, I would definitely do the same.

Had a performance mod which was great till the update nerfed it... Now McLaren are OP... Lando has stormed my last two races!
- @Kamackeris I've considered it, and my personal performance mod is very close to final stages, I've basically just begun testing for real.
I'd like to at least wait until after Monza, so I can establish the full range of top speed and downforce. - DavidG534 years ago

@ActuallyImJulie they do line up almost perfectly.. is just you don't know the unit. is rad/s.
so you need to convert using this
https://www.convertunits.com/from/RPM/to/rad/sec Hi,
few days ago there was a question about how track and air temps are affecting the tyres now. I didn't see the answer yet, so I'm just going to try asking the question again.
So for example how much increase in core temperature can we expect per degree air temp or track temp, in case it's that easy determinable
- @DavidG53 Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware. I did say they don't line up with what you'd expect, though I did word that poorly. I wasn't implying they are wrong.

@ActuallyImJulie no no I never understood it as you said it was wrong :D. Just pointed out it is a different unit we use. is just easier for our physics engine, that's all. Same reason for Kelvin on temps.

@DavidG53 is this now the final alteration to the Physics for this year?
Thanks

@Just_Dave_M took advice from Meza and Mario and others lol and made slight adjustment to tyre surface temps being a little too aggressive now, and tyre wear being affected too much by pressures. I'd love to improve tyre pressure grip, tyre slip drop off with load, low wings efficiency, refine engine torque further, change the aero map.... But then we would never have a final handling :D. I am always trying to improve.
Other than that slight temp/wear tweaks and hopefully auto gear tune, yes is final. - @DavidG53 What about all the 0-0 wings wizardry, is that going to be addressed or it's just 'it is what it is'
- @DavidG53 Was this done in the back end simulation? I can't see anything different in the compounds file.

They shouldn’t be so guarded. And the beauty off the members is they are not pro drivers who would push game to be out off reach off us mere mortals. Average gamers make better games
And I just want good gameplay and the end off all game and ai cheats and poorly implemented scripts. So wouldn’t ask my opinion but I put in hours
