I want to start off with this so that I can be as clear as possible.  I know the mods aren't responsible for this in the first place, and I know they aren't responsible for the lack of a positive outcome for this.  The following is in no way directed at the mods but is directed to both EA and Codemasters.  I say both because EA is Codemasters.  Codemasters is EA.  That's what happens when you get bought out by a publisher.  They both are responsible for this, and they both are to blame.

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired regarding these types of problems that seemingly continue to occur with games published by EA.  I was on these boards two years ago complaining when the FUSE servers went down with no notice.  EA did nothing.  EA Sports Fifa Football on the PS Vita had a broken trophy on day one.  It was never fixed.  EA did nothing.

Unfortunately, they say it’s not possible."  This is not directed at you ScarDuck.  This is directed at Codemasters.  They say it's not possible.  That is, quite honestly, untrue.  I recently did Grid Autosport on the PS3 which was released in 2014.  All online trophies were fine including the Racenet challenges, which were the weekly events for that game.  Just now, I literally logged online in F1 2013 on my PS3 and was able to get access to a Racenet challenge.  Players were getting the trophies for the weekly events for F1 2019 three years after release.  

I already severely reduced the money I spent on EA games after the FUSE situation.  I now will have to analyze yet again what money, if any, I will give to EA.  To drop support for a title after 11 months, and without any warning whatsoever, is, quite frankly, disgusting.  Right now, EA and Codemasters can do right by their players, their paying customers, and bring back the weekly events.  EA and Codemasters have a choice to make.  Right now, they are saying it's not possible.  They are choosing to treat their fanbase, their players, their paying customers, with indifference and contempt.  Why would I continue to support, or why should anyone continue to support for that matter, two companies who treat their customers like this?

While EA might be saying this is "impossible" without explaining why this is the case they should at least know that they have lost a customer for life and I want to give some feedback.

I am literally the perfect target deomgraphic for the F1 games... I am a huge F1 fan, watch every race and qualfying without fail and go to many of the races in person. I also happen to be an avid gamer but as things stand I have already cancelled my EA play subscription and will not be buying another EA game again even if it is something I really want to play! I was bang up for getting F1 23 as soon as I was finished with 22 but cleary this is now not going to happen.

So where as I would have potentially bought every F1 game yearly on release they will now not be seeing a penny from me and have lost my business as a paying customer, one that is literally the person they are trying to sell these products to.

If this is the extent to which they treat their customers and just pretend that there isnt an issue it's not going to work out well for them in the future, and I am sure they are just being complacent because what do I matter? I am just one silly little trophy hunting customer, there are plenty more people who will continue to buy the games right?

All I can say EA is bravo, keep up the good work.... because its not unlike big businesses to make mistakes and find themselves in trouble these days is it?

Know this will likely get nowhere in the grand scheme, but raising exposure on the issue, the publisher and developer is all good. 

I already signed and shared, let's keep fighting, because a game is not summed up in 50 weeks being sold at full price in all stores !!

A quick update, just to warn everyone. I booted up Dirt Rally 2.0 this morning and received an advertisement for EA Sports WRC. I would highly recommend that anyone who owns this game does the online trophies, they are likely to become unachievable without notice. Now that I know of it's existence, it's yet another game I won't be buying due to the F1 '22 debacle (actually, I've already stated I won't but any EA games any more because of this), but so far (and I usually buy everything) I would have already personally paid for them to put the events back in. Nice work guys.

@ScarDuck14  Sorry but i don't believe that for a second your not an EA employee and any of them I've had to deal with have been anything but incompetent, the ones on the support tickets have no clue what they talk about and any dealings always goes the same way with the issue not getting resolved.

This issue is easily fixable like they did with F1 2019 i can go and find all the evidence that they fixed the exact same issue in that game, so why can't they do it for this one then? It's easy i mean what would be the issue in recycling one event and putting it for a year? which would be long enough to where we couldn't complain as if we didn't do it then it would be our own fault but as it stands this game didn't even get a full year of support which is extremely poor.

@EclairViande5You're right, it's easily fixable. When I say easily I mean there's not much things that can be easier in terms of the process to fix it.

I put a more detailed post a few pages back on SQL databases, connections and coding. Long story short a simple database amendment would fix this issue. An "expiry date" field would be edited, click "execute" and done. The code of the game doesn't require any changes at all.

This is why its so ridiculous beyond belief. This game was supported for a total of 50 weeks (i've said this a million times too and won't stop). Its trophy list broken and abandoned at 50 weeks. A simple fix...

Anyway, I'm not personally done with this and likely won't be for a long time, it's just how I am. I'd rather be put in the same room with someone from Codemasters for 5min than keep droning on here but it's a "digital" battle as they say.

Hey, EA, we still here and waiting for the Weekly Events fix. For a game that been only 1 year old 

There is no Codemasters, they no longer exist. There's maybe a few developers left from the original team, but they are now EA employees also.

we are going for 3 months without events, the game is still at full price on all platforms, congratulations EA you deserve a trophy, the first company I have seen in my entire gaming life that publishes a game with a shelf life of 50 weeks!

@Executioner0That's true but its still both EA and Codemasters at fault. The internal employees and management could fix this. As both the EA community rep and champion pointed out, this issue has been made aware to Codemasters.

I don't know how their (EA&Codemasters) relationship operates and my original worry was that Codemasters would simply not be made aware. From what we've been told they have been.

So we have EA not actively "telling" them to fix it. Can you really blame EA here? as I've said many times why would they when they are in the business of profit? they don't need to. Fix fifa ultimate team? yes. Our problem is a small one on the grand scheme of things, it's simply not on EA's radar.

It's on Codemasters Radar and they are actively deciding not to fix it. Could be lack of personal pride, could be outright incompetence. It could well be EA effectively saying "no". We haven't been given a reason.

Think of it in terms of a book. If a book was "published" with mistakes and those mistakes had an almost 0% effect on the publishing companies revenue, would they then go back to the "author" and have them change it when the cost of having those changes WILL have an affect on the "publishers" revenue. If your in the business of profit your problems becomes that which affects profit, nothing more. What I'm saying is that actually fixing it may impact EA over just leaving it...hence, they at the minimum don't care to address 'our' problem or at worst have told Codemasters no. When I say "having those changes affect profit" I mean having to set resources to it, EA's is obviously a spiders web of line managers with internal roadmaps, deadlines and slim timeframes. 

Now as for Codemasters, well its their work, their time, their creation....something they've all put their name on. They are in the business of creating art effectively.

Now when you sit and think about it, you tell me who's really at fault.

I think they both are but at this point more so Codemasters. Yes we all hate the big bad man in the suit who turns someones passion into profit margins but every single person working at Codemasters (now or before) stood up and said "I want to make games for peoples enjoyment". Are you enjoying yourself? I would assume not.

They know their product is broken and at best we can scratch it up to personal pride (or lack thereof)

We can sit here speculating about how easy it is to modify sql databases and who could do what etc . But as we are not on the inside none of us can really say for sure what needs to happen. End of the day the technicalities don’t really matter but what is clear is this company gives zero f**ks about anything other than profit and negative PR.. because bottom line is unless it impacts one of those they have clearly decided to not allocate any resource away from other work to fix this. 

So impacting profit is going to be hard unless a significant amount of users refuse to buy their products in the future and stand by this .. I will be personally doing this but I can’t vouch for anyone else. However what we can do is create some negative PR for the company by highlighting this underhanded practice to the gaming press, YouTube, social media etc.

So that is where I’m going to be putting my effort. Posting on here is just a waste of time now imo. I mean how many more pages does this thread need to be before they think hang on we might need to do something about this!?

As far as I know, I'm not aware that xbox one achievements are hackable? Unlike the xbox 360 achievements are!

Yes, he's definitely a cheater. I checked on my Xbox yesterday and there are still no weekly events. The leaderboard shows the last event was Baku.

@Lucky_MelotjeI feel your pain (and anyone else in that situation).

I actually only play the Playstation for trophy system itself because STEAM's system is pointless and far easily hacked. There's actually proper and serious communities on consoles.

Anyway this is my 2nd profile, first one wasn't that old and ruined by me this second one is approx 2 years old and has been ruined by EA/Codemasters.

Obviously it's frustrating and I truly feel for people with very old accounts, some of them having platinum's on every F1 game etc.

They didn't give any reason or warning, obviously no reason for not fixing which I think has long been established as a relatively easy fix. Hopefully no one forgets this shun (that's why I kept harping on about 50 weeks).

Interestingly, I've been back playing MMO's on the PC basically. Happened to be watching a popular MMO streamer vent about Diablo 4. Some of his fanbase had started to go after the social facing employees i.e the ones on twitter etc. He backed the idea saying something along the lines of "well that's what needs to happen, you can't get to these big companies and punish them so going after the guys on socials and attacking them is the only way".

Whether you or I agree with that or not I think it kind of hints at where things need to go. I've been sort of brainstorming (with myself) the idea of having a website that tracks game development/publishing employees. Nothing nefarious and all data pulled from the surface web. An almost - heres this guys name, he worked at so and so between xzy, this game released then and was trash etc etc. A comment section and a link to any social media accounts.

All very legal, data pulled from the indexed web - a bit like pulling a name from companies house etc. A collection of data displayed in one place to increase exposure.

I recently started on the online trophies of F1 22. Very disappointing to see that the platinum is already unobtainable after less than 1 year...

I had the same issue with another EA game last year (FIFA 22). After 4 months they provided a fix. Lets hope this one will get fixed soon.

Temporary solution will be enough for us.

I have 3 platinums on previous F1 games, and i looking for F1 22, but will not start the game until they fix it. I care for my percentage of completion and i will never buy ea or codemaster game  again. (shame for codemasters, they were one of my favorites game studios )

Definitely! Or if not they can just change the requirements of the trophy (it was literally a participation trophy, didn't take any skill - change the requirement to opening the game and keep us happy!)
