Met a team exactly like you described but since im a gk and a friend who plays on cb who kept marking the winger to prevent the cross. While me rush forward to catch the ball, they rage quitted. But i feel you,it is frustrating if you plays up top with ai to defend.
Yeah, this is definitely out of control. We have seen the same issue. The other point is that the CPU defenders (particularly the fullbacks) don't seem to try to cover this at all. They are nowhere to be found. The only solution now is to manually defend this from both the crosser and the runner wtih two human players, which is tough if you don't have a full squad playing.
- Exemplar872 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@Flesh_Honing You need to use the double tap rb button and hold it if you want the 2 selected players to keep marking when defending. you use this with a bit of practice you can get the full back to get closer to the full back. as the ball moves around you release rb/r1 button then redo the double tap rb/r1 and then the next set of defenders will close down and mark. This is very useful as it stop AI cb's and full backs from leaving the attackers open for headers and crossing. it's not going to prevent all goals but it definitely helps a lot.
Similar to next gen last year then - annoying.
I feel that unfortunately with this game (and lots of competitive online games) there is a proportion of people that would rather find cheap & easy ways to score goals (win) than put in any effort.
For them, doing as little as possible is their way of 'playing' the game.
That mentality makes no sense to me, but it's been that way for as long as I can remember.
IMO, EA need to make these shortcuts significantly harder or less successful, and perhaps people might start to get creative or try to play something that resembles football.
However I think that even if they do nerf it, some people won't change and would rather play route one stuff and do everything they can to break the game / Ai.
To each their own I suppose, but it would be nice if both mentalities could enjoy the game without annoying the hell out of the other group.
I've said it for years, but a split of clubs with "arcade" and "sim" styles would fix this. Then everyone is happy.
Route one arcade can keep doing what they are, scoring and conceeding lots of goals.
Sim players can play a more challenging and low scoring game.
I highly doubt that EA are willing to put that amount of effort in to clubs at this point though. Maybe 10 years ago, or that 1 year that clubs existed before FUT.
