12 yr old preordering EA SPORT FC24 Ultimate (PS5)

Hi,

My 12 yr old plays FIFA23 on PS5 and wants to pre-order EA SPORTS FC 24 Ultimate, to benefit from the preorder perks. On the PS store, it seems he has two choices:

pay £99.99 for the game, or

pay £89.99 and also pay to subscribe to EA play.

As he already plays FIFA23 via PS Plus, I don't understand why he would want/need an EA Play sub.

If I login to the PS store via my parent account, I get the £89.99 preorder offer without the need for an EA play subscription. I also see the same price if I log into EA.com via my parent account. I don't play the game and If I were to buy it via my account, I'm pretty sure he would not be able to play it and would surely not get the perks.

How do we pre-order it at the slightly better price, so he will be able to play it and also benefit from the pre-order perks?

Cheers.

    Hey @DethLeppard,

The £89.99 offer is only available when you have an active EA Play subscription.
EA Play is a different subscription and can be purchased on PC / Xbox and PlayStation. The subscription offers you a 10% discount on EA game purchases, FC Points purchases and additional rewards on a monthly basis.

You can read more about EA Play benefits here: https://www.ea.com/ea-play

If you don't have a EA Play subscription, you will have to pay  £99.99 for EA SPORTS FC™ 24.

    To further answer your questions:
Only the account on which the game was purchased on, will receive the pre-order bonuses. So if you purchase the game on your parental account, the bonuses will not be available on the child account, so you would need to complete the purchase on the Child account.

If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

  • Thanks for the reply.

I don't have an active EA play account but if I go via EA.com

and click the the preorder link (https://lnk.to/fc24-ps-eue) that takes me to https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP0006-PPSA13385_00-24ULTIMATEBUNDLE/ where I can log in, and pre-order this:

However, if I log into the PS store with my son's account he can buy the same package but for £99.99.

I can't figure out if it's something to do with the PS store setting the price differently (giving me a discount for whatever reason - I guess I'd need to ask the PS store about that), or whether it's because my son has a different (kids) account on EA, so some discount is not getting carried across.

Ideally I'd log into EA with my son, and we'd follow the links to the PS store etc, but as he has an EA kids account, I don't think it's possible

    Thanks.
