I think patience is wearing thin due to years of frustration regarding the visual aspects of the game. Not only are upgrades/fixes absent for the latest game, many things are not fixed for the next game, or the one after that. It may seem like little things, but what is actually being fed into my eyes influences my overall impression, believe it or not.
It also adds to my frustration when resources are used to add meaningless things that removes the game from reality, and often comes with bugs. I get to see a yellow card given from the referees point of view? Highlights from the game are shown before the game is played? (Or is it meant as highlights from an earlier game between the sides? Unclear.) White text on white background on the scoreboard = invisible. Manager interviews don't even try to resemble what is going on in Career mode. Teams are linked with “-1 undefined” - that player sounds good. All of this makes the game less immersive.
We want a rich boot catalog in edit with colors that are realistic and pop in game. Grip socks of various lengths have been the norm for 15 years now, when was the last time we saw a significant amount of players wear ankle tape? How about fixing the number of bench players to match reality? I am no expert, but these things can surely not be harder than animating unrealistic cut scenes.
I want to love this game, but I am struggling to do so.
