Evolving a Showdown card before upgrade

Question

What happens if you evolve a showdown card before their potential upgrade? For example, I have showdown Alex Sandro that I was considering putting into Unleashing Potential. If Sandro win or drew, would he still be upgraded even after the evolution was added to him? Or would he remain as the evolution card?

@ItsV1ncent They are thinking I guess it takes time. I really don’t know how it works there are topics in which the question is answered pretty fast, and other topics in which nobody from EA will write anything. Why is that?
