There are definitely instances where the 'game' makes decisions for you or makes an easy task seem impossible, like tackling the ball. I've had games where my opponent will run the ball right through my back line with all my players actually running away from the ball and I have no defenders close enough to switch to.
I played a game of champs qualifiers today where my opponent shot at goal, it hit my keeper, the ball dropped, my keeper dropped on top of the ball, 2 of my defenders surrounded my keeper but yet my opponent just ran straight through my defenders and keeper, took the ball and dribbled it into the goal.
The mechanics in the game are terrible, my same team in squad battles acts completely different in rivals and champs. In rivals and champs passes are weaker and go in the wrong direction, defender ai won't defend, shots at goal just miss (sometimes even an open goal) or constantly hit the upright or cross bar, my players with much better stats are outrun by much slower players.
@Nalchic The game should behave the same in ALL modes but it doesn't.
I'm not able to play because of the randomness of the gameplay, that's the point we are trying to make!
I played 2 games of rivals today against the same player, the first game I lost 7-2 in a game where my players were SO slow, shots kept hitting the upright and crossbar, passes barely made it to the intended player and all my players ran away from the ball.
Second game against the same player I won 6-1 and all the problems I had the game before were now happening to my opponent.
That type of crap is the games fault (or at least the servers fault).
First of all you need to be able to play against and cope with different opponents methods. That will help you a lot.
If your team is unresponsive, it could be that the opponents formation, tactics etc... are out doing yours. DO NOT be afraid to change formations,tactics,players etc...
Don't give up. One moment can change everything.
Do not play Ultimate Team if that's what your playing.

It’s NOT connection/internet.
Because what you feel and the responsiveness of the controllers literally varies from game to game.
sometimes within the same game.Not to mention rats that use constant pressure.
Why on earth would you allow a tactic, constant pressure, to turn very offensive player into a *.
So when your responsiveness is bad…..and a rat uses Constant pressure - you’re down 3-0 in like 10 minutes of Gametime.
How is this forum full of complaints and the issue still not addressed by your PAYING customers?
Let this topic stay on top. This is the main problem of the game. Otherwise the graphics are fine and the idea is great! Haha
The fact EA don’t even address anyone’s problem is the worst part for me and the reason I will never buy another EA game. It’s always the same nonsense in response but you only have to look on this forum to see the amount of people with the same issues, a big part of the problem is other players excusing the game and saying it’s a skill issue and you’re obviously not good enough which is complete rubbish, not saying I’m any good at the game because I’m average but most games my players are completely useless, they are acting completely different game to game and some cards for me are completely unplayable yet they are the “meta” and unreal for everyone else. If the players were playing the same in every game and it was just me playing bad that’s fair enough but how do I play with some of the best players on the game and one game they are quick and dribble well and the next 10 games they move like there stuck in treacle 🤷🏻♂️
@blue166 what type of advice is this? The whole point is that the gameplay, especially in UT, is horrendous.
The whole point, if you've read, is that there is no way to "cope" with the opponent. If you could, this forum would be filled with good advice on "what to do when your opponent does X".Unfortunately it does not because there is ZERO recourse for anything you experience here. The closest we got this year was when the broader community figured out what 71 depth was. The BOOM, when two teams are playing 71 depth, who decides who gets to have the "better" pressure and strikers that can tackle like Maldini??? I'll give you a hint, its the 3 letter acronym we arent supposed to say.
EA knows the game is flawed and the community aren't happy, why else would they be giving higher points for rivals wins so players can qualify for champs quicker (takes about 3-4 wins and you should have 1250 points).
It might be easier to get into champs playoffs but for me it's impossible to qualify because the gameplay sucks when I have an immediate speed disadvantage, passes are always short (no matter how long I hold the button) or if they are the right power they go straight to the opposition, defenders run away from the opponent with the ball, keeper can't save shots kicked straight at him but my opponents keeper is superman literally flying around and making impossible saves.
Not to mention every champs game I play they are packed with all the best icons, promo and special cards available yet I have opened over 100 decent packs (mega, 12x/24x rare, 86+,85+ etc.) and yeah I get the occasional 88-90 rated gold card but I am yet to pack any icons, promo or special cards.
