How do you play online co-op with two controllers and one console?

I have 2 controllers for one PS5 and want to play online game-mades with two people using this one console. Modes such as FUT, co-op season, etc. How would I do this? It works fine when I play 1v1 using the one console. Online play with both of us just doesn't seem to work.
