Well, if you look at EA's latest financials, you'll see that they had 7% revenue growth year over year. And while sales of actual games was down, the growth in microtransactions more than compensated for it. So whether people enjoy the game or not, they're spending more and that's all EA really cares about.
So, expect them to keep doing exactly what they're doing, because it's working for them.

I can believe that, i recently have read 2 post of people writing sth like that "i have ronaldinho, i have pele and still this game wan't let me play as i would like to". Ok, but who has Pele, Ronaldinho, Gullit etc people who spend a lot on packs. They have bad playing experience so they think ok, i will have better team (i will spend more money ofc) better players, i will have much more fun. What a surprise it is, that spending money doesn't help much. Obviously in this game better players perform better than economic (cheap) ones, but as we can see it not always help.
So i can believe that they earn they money, and maybe it's some kind of strategy, maybe when the game was better, people were spending less, i don't know.
I play this game from fifa 22. There are great players in this game and i had the pleasure to play with them, BUT - there are some cards i can dream of - Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Pele, Gullit, Cruijff - i never got them from packs, i can;t afford the sbc (doing 3x 90, 4x89 from the fodder given for free is virtually impossible) and i don't have 8 mil to buy them on the market. So i feel really terrible for people who spend i don't know how much on this game, and still it's not satisfactory.
