Not exactly the 3v3 style you might be looking for, but you could utilize clubs for this.
Create 2 clubs - separate accounts will need to create these, 1 account can't own 2 clubs.
3 people join each club, and then play friendlies against the other club.
You won't be using 'real' players, at least 2 players in each side will have to play fixed position, but it would likely still be a lot of fun. You can join and leave clubs as often as you like, and as long as 1 person remains in the club it won't be deleted.
I don't believe the "3v3" co-op style - where it's real teams, and all players can switch to other players in the same team - is possible.
