Please consider an option to turn off my celebrations

As an older gamer I find the in-game celebrations to be toxic. While it's fun to do the silly ones with my friends offline, it's obvious that celebrations in Rivals or Champs are solely there to taunt other players.

There is an option to change the camera focus after I concede a goal so I don't have to watch the taunt. But that's no big deal. If you taunt people after goals you've told me everything I would ever need to know about you. Dance to your heart's content lol.

But even if I instinctively skip the celebration after every goal there are times when the animation gets stuck and no amount of button mashing can make it stop. Please consider adding an option to allow me to turn off /my own/ celebrations by default. Doesn't seem that hard to do, and I can't see the harm in providing players a way to show they have some respect for their opponents. Goodness knows you spend an awful lot of time adding ways for us to be disrespectful.

  • Happy to pass your feedback on @comdoterols but at the same time a lot of people just like to take a minute to bask in a goal and it's not toxic or abusive or intended as such.

The celebrations where the player rushes the camera are over the top. If an opposing player were to rush over to their opponent and got a couple of shots inches from their face they would receive a card.

EA gives an option to control the angle of the camera on the field.  How about an option to let a player select if they want to see sideline camera on their display.  If the other player wants to rush the camera and see it on their screen and bask in the glory then ok. I just don’t want to keep getting taunted online verses a human player.

  • You can change the camera to display your players instead of the opponents celebrating players immediately after they score a goal. Your defenders just look at each other dejectedly.

What I would like is a setting that simply never allows my own players to celebrate. Because sometimes the game loads the players' default celebration and some of them have toxic ones. I'm sure plenty of gamers would appreciate this setting even if they don't care about celebrations, as it would speed up games considerably.

But it's also ludicrous that anyone actually believes celebrations exist for any reason besides taunting the opposing player. The game gives me no way to applaud my opponent for a beautiful goal or a sporting play or a free win. But I do have access to a few dozen dances to make my opponent angry after they concede a goal.

I suspect we won't have a way to play the game respectfully until EA figures out a way to monetize sportsmanship.

How do you switch the camera to not focus on your players after a goal?

  • The setting only seems to appear in Settings before a match, not on the main menu Settings option. If you start up a Squad Battles game you will eventually get to the Match Preview screen that shows your lineup (the screen after you select your kit). Across the bottom you'll see Play Match and Game Settings and Controller Settings. Choose Game Settings>Visual>Celebration Camera Focus. It's about halfway down the list.

From what I can tell this is the only chance you have to change it, and it only works on the current gen version (ie PS5 not PS4). Further proof EA is firmly committed to ensuring you have an enjoyable and positive game experience.

@erolsdotcom I have an XBOX and play head to head seasons. Sounds that changing camera angle won’t be a possibility for me.
