Red card and injury at the same time in Squad Battles

I got a red card and injury with the same player in Squad Battle. After this, I could not get out of Team Management because I was forced to replace a player which has a red card, which is not possible. Has anyone had this problem before? This might also happen if there are no more substitutes and a player gets injured.
