With all due respect, this needs addressing and sorting ASAP
For years we as paying customers have supported and continuously bought the game year on year. A lot of us where regular players way before ultimate team was even in production, yet now it appears EA only seem to put their main focus and attention on ultimate team. Why? MONEY MONEY MONEY
The fact that the walk out cutscenes/anthems/lineups have been removed is one of the most ridiculous, insulting and damn right offensive actions to date, the whole TV broadcast/matchday experience is the main part of playing offline career modes and something ea stated it was trying to improve over the last couple of years? So why remove the most realistic part of the game then?
The immersion experience is vital, its a chance for us as players to seperate ourselves from the real world and almost transfer ourselves into the game, hearing the roar of the crowd before a big champions league night game, seeing the mascots in the middle waving the big circle champions league banner over the centre circle whilst the anthem is played and the teams line up, hearing YNWA whilst the anfield crowd hold up their scarfs and hearing west hams "forever blowing bubbles" before a game. All this made for a pre match atmosphere that further immersed you into the game and got you pumped up as though you was watching it live
Imagine playing at anfield on a big champions league night and not being able to see the teams walk out, not being able to hear the champions league anthem being played or the crowd belting out YNWA whilst the players are lining up and shaking hands. The removal of all this completley ruins the feeling of a game before it has even kicked off
The cutscenes that have been added and do remain in the game that show supporters gathering outside the stadium are a cool addition and would have added to the whole realistic immersive matchday experience had EA NOT removed the usual walk out/pre match anthem cutscenes, these should have gone hand in hand and would have made for a terrific pre match build up
instead you have just kept the same very daft match highlights of the game (before that game has even been played) which I really have never understood, these silly cutscenes which seem to show future highlights of the game before it has even been played add no value at all, if you was going to remove one thing it should have been this.
I understand a lot of players choose to skip the cutscenes in question, I have to admit sometimes I do this myself, however, for a lot of games, especially champions league games and important league games/cup games, a lot of us players still like to watch the entire pre match cutscenes to get a feel for the importance of these games. To soak up the pre match atmosphere and almost feel a part of the whole experience
To completley remove this feature is criminal and has certainly done the complete opposite of gaining any improvment on the whole matchday atmosphere, the feeling of any importance of certain big games has been completley lost now and the whole experience feels non existant and meaningless.
I really do hope ea add the pre match walk out cutscenes back into this game via a patch update, because until then, I will NOT be purchasing the game. And judging by many other comments and reviews out there, neither will a lot of others
If EA really did have an ounce of care and respect for offline players then they would listen....and bring this back
