Can’t continue evo on player

I originally put a card into evolutions in December. Around January/February, I discarded that card to start a new evolution. After an update to the game, I can no longer put the newly evolved card into new evolutions, for example red fut champs evo which has no requirements. I don’t know what to do now as I want to continue evolving this card however every time I try to it says there’s an error. If I knew beforehand this wouldve been the case I wouldn’t have discarded my first evo. However as I was able to evolve the same base card I did not think this was an issue. Please advise me on how to move forward.
