@RadioShaqsYes, but my point is that I only have delay when I'm playing EA FC. It doesn't happen in Warzone or in the Xbox menus even when I have EA FC running in the background, as demonstrated in the video.

@RadioShaqs Ok I figured out how to add the input overlay in game for both local and server input. I made a clip below which includes both those overlays, plus the gamepadviewer overlay I found online.
In the clip, you can see a significant delay between the gamepadviewer and the two in-game overlays. However, if we just focus on the in-game overlays, there is also a delay between both. When I push A to pass, there is a 32 millisecond delay from local to server input, and there is a 124 millisecond delay between local input to the start of the pass animation.
If we consider the gamepadviewer to the start of the pass animation, there is a 260 millisecond delay.
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 Right I was confused on how you was judging your delay at first. What my last post was saying is you can have delay in ea fc while not having it in cod or another game as the games are two different servers two different games ect. Try looking at the connection faq here and see if it helps.
Here is the link to it and ea saying there isn’t a problem with the server.

@RadioShaqs Not sure I understand. The link you referenced is about someone disconnecting from the game. I'm not having any disconnect issues, just the significant input delay. Either way, I've already tried the troubleshooting in that guide. Unless there is some hidden stat, I have a great connection with an Open NAT, direct ethernet connection from Xbox to modem.
The fact that I have a smooth experience outside of EA FC seems to be proof that there is something wrong with EA FC, whether it's software or server, no?
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 Not always because they are different servers and different games. Where is the cod server located vs the fc? Unless there is a high rate of users reporting an issue or ea posts server issues it’s likely on your end.
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 Also here is a post closer to your issue although older. The one I posted before is just showing they are not showing a server issue today.

@RadioShaqs I don't think the information in that thread really clarifies anything. I just see other people complaining or not understanding what to do.
But I guess what you are trying to say is that the issue is probably on my end, and most likely with my connection even though I don't have connection problems with any other game. In that case, how do I determine what EA FC server I'm connecting to?
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 That’s what I am saying is you don’t know what servers you are running on when comparing it to another game or another test.
You would think you are connecting to the nearest server but that’s not always the case. Your isp might route you to a server farther away.
From the help page.
EAS FC will always try to connect you to online matches on your best game data center. Although that’s often the nearest one, this isn't always the case.
Internet service providers (ISP) generally don’t send data from Point A to Point B directly. They route this data across locations, sometimes across the globe. This can be a physical networking infrastructure limitation of some ISPs or part of their business model. These decisions are ultimately handled by ISPs based on their unique needs and situations.
In some cases, your connection to a game data center is the best connection available at the moment, even if it’s further away. Your connection can be routed elsewhere if there are internet issues impacting the route that your network traffic would normally take, or if one of our game data centers is experiencing technical problems.

@RadioShaqs Is there a way for me to determine what EA FC server I'm connecting to? I live in the Dallas area in North America, so I should be very close to a server.
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 Hard to say. They did a pitch notes explaining how a large portion of Mexico City connects to Dallas despite being in Mexico City. They published that to explain how isp routing doesn’t make sense.
I get green ping most of the time so assume I connect to my closest server. During off hours and low population modes like friendlies I sometimes get a yellow ping so assume I get a server farther away. When I get a yellow ping I always back out that way I never get delay. - NobbyS79 months agoNew Rookie
@RadioShaqs I do the same. I consistently play with 10 ping or less.

Talked to ISP (AT&T), they said everything looks fine and probably a game or Xbox issue. Talked to Xbox, they said it's probably a connection issue. They suggested I try with a different internet source.
Trying to connect with phone hotspot, but apparently Xbox now has an issue where I can only connect with ethernet. Will try if/when resolved.
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 Hopefully you get it figured out.

@RadioShaqs I've tried to Google servers for EA FC and have found easo.ea.com
Do you know if this is a good address for a traceroute if I'm in the US? Want to have some data if I can get a tech to come out.
- RadioShaqs9 months agoHero@NobbyS7 I am not that familiar with it. I know they used to use that as a test not sure if they still do as I’ve been using the tests in game on more recent year. Does it ping an actual game server I don’t think so. Here are some links maybe they will help maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

Just a quick update. Managed to get an AT&T tech out. He supposedly found an issue with slight signal loss, but it was repaired quickly and the issue is still happening.
The last AT&T support person I spoke to suggested I try to use a router with a passthrough setup from the modem. I tried that, and I had a couple of amazing, relatively lag-free games. Then, I started it to feel the lag slowly come back until it was consistent every game again. I don't understand what is going on.
I did also try my hotspot for a couple of games but I get very high ping (orange or red). Those couple of games also felt better, but hard to tell without testing further and since I couldn't find any green ping games.
