How to delete account that is not accessable?

Somehow my boy, on his PS4 trying to setup EA Sports FC, created a new EA account (not his correct one) and linked it to his PlayStation account - issue is he used his school email account for the new EA Account and this does not receive external emails.

This account should never have been able to be linked without email authorisation - but it has, and now we are stuck. I've tried linking his correct EA Account to his PlayStation account but get an error "there is already an account linked to this PlayStation account".

We can't get into the new EA account as we can't get emails to it, so never receive the security code.

Managed to get though to chat 'help' once but they were of no help at all.

Any ideas what we can do?  (other than create him a new PlayStation account and link his correct EA account to it)

Thanks All

  • I'll try again but having spend hours trying to sort it out, I'm not expecting much.

EA help seems 99% a loop of guides. Actually getting into live chat seems to be made as difficult as possible.

    Thank you for your feedback.

To create a new case and initiate a chat, please follow these steps:

    1. Visit our website  the EA Help homepage and type 'EA App
    2. Select See all help topics
    3. Select the Manage my account category.
    4. Select I need help logging in to my EA Account
    5. Under the heading 'Still need help', the available contact options should appear
    6. Initiate a chat with one of our support representatives.
  • thanks EA_Pulsar, for the pointer on how to get into live chat. Unfortunately it was another 1.5 hours of my time wasted.

The first operator finally passed me to another one - both of which couldn't help.  (We can't unlink or delete an account without verifying it. But the account doesn't get emails. But we can't  unlink or delete an account without verifying it... over and over).

Issue - Its possible, when using EA Sports FC 24 on the PS4, to link the PSN account to an EA account using any random email address. The accounts get linked without the need to verify the EA Accounts email address. Now there is no way to delete the EA Account or unlink if from the PSN account.

Supports attempt to help (abridged version):

Me - We can't get into the new EA account as we can't get emails to it, so never receive the security code.
Support - I hope you are good today! As I understand that you would like to link PSN account?
Me - I want to delete an EA account so its no longer linked, so I can link the correct account
Support - Alright so you would like to delete the account? Thank you so much for the confirmation. We will ensure that your issue is fixed at the earliest.
Me - [edit: email address removed] is the account that is invalid. its a school account that does not receive emails outside of school
Support - May I know the reason to delete your EA account?
Me - (repeating the above multiple times in different ways)
Support -  Thank you for sharing. You need to find the original verification email from account setup and complete verification.

Me - As said the account doesn't get emails

Support -  Your email does not receive the codes because your email was not verified at the time of account creation. You need to go to your EA Account Security settings. Under Login Verification, click Turn On. We'll send you a code via the method you choose right away. Use that code to activate Login Verification, and you'll be all set.
Kindly check this article for more https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/ea-login-verification-information/#:~:text=Go%20to%20your%20EA%20Account,you'll%20be%20all%20set.
Me - we cannot log into your account. It doesn't receive emails

Operator then disconnected and passed me to someone else, and the whole loop starts again.

As well as all the above 2nd operator wanted to know the below for an account that has never been logged into or verified:

IP address (network where they play on)- [IP address]
Date of birth (provided during account creation)- [date of birth]
One purchase on account and purchase date (month/year)- [product purchased and date]
Last 4 digits of credit card- [last 4 digits]
    Billing address - [address]
    Phone number - [phone number]

So basically I'll need to create a new PSN account and the other one is screwed due to being linked to an EA account that we can't get to.
