How to fix FC24 FUT24 Input Delay, sluggish gameplay, unresponsive control

First of all i would like to thank @r164vfnlmhr9 and @rrcCas for the advice they wrote on this forum. I manage to make the game run better with under 10ms latency (online and offline), even after changing the settings they advised i can already feel the responsiveness in the menu.  Here is a brief conclusion on what they advised and some of my tweaks:

For Nvidia Users:

Go to Nvidia control panel > Manage 3D settings> Choose Program settings> Add FC24 (If its not there click add > browse> browse the local game files)
After that you need to scroll and change these settings:

- Max frame rate: 120FPS ( if you have monitor higher than 90hz)

- Max frame rate: 60FPS ( if you have monitor lower than 90hz)

-Monitor technology: Fixed Refresh

- Preferred refresh rate: Application Controlled

- Vertical Sync: Off/Adaptive (Test which one suits better for you)

For AMD Users:

In AMD Adrenaline:

-Keep general graphic settings on default

-Add FC 24 to games by searching for a custom game

-Inside FC 24 settings keep it default except for:

- V-sync = Always OFF

-Radeon Chill = Your Monitor's refresh rate - 3

After finished with settings for your graphics card, go ahead and open the game and go to "Game Settings"
In Game Settings:

Head to "Display Configuration" and change these settings:
-Display Mode: Windowed Borderless

-Frame Rate: No Limit on FPS

-Vertical Sync: Off

-Dynamic Resolution scale: Off

-Cutscene Quality: Half Frame Rate

-Strand Based Hair: Off

Still in Game Settings Head to "Visual" and change these settings:

-Player Indicator: Player Name
-Player Indicator Size: Small

Before i knew these tweaks, I have been wondering why im experiencing rubbish gameplay where its hard to defend, tackle and VERY HARD to dribble against other players online even tho i have very high rated players and very good PC spec for FC24 (way above recommended specs), After changing this settings (I'm on Nvidia graphics card) i feel the VERY SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE in gameplay, brought down latency from average of 30ms-40ms way down to 3ms-10ms now im playing with much more responsive controls.

Thank you Very much for the people in this forum who is willing to spend their precious time to share these solutions, I very much hope that other people experiencing these difficulties can benefit from this, please click the +XP button if this solution helped you so other people with the same difficulties can notice this post and make our community have better experience.

Once again, all credits to @r164vfnlmhr9 and @rrcCas.

Sincerely, Q14c
Have a nice day 🙂

  • Yes I confirm the AMD settings is the best combination for lower latency. I'm using that with 75hz monitor.

I had Nvidia card before and could never reach the same low latency level like for Amd.

But in my case it works better if I don't set this:

    - V-sync = Always OFF

and leave it as default setting.

    Now, I compared between 60hz and 75hz:

    75-3=72 fps players run more

60-3=57 fps players run less but more reactive

Do you see the same? Do you prefer to raise fps and run faster or have better reactivity on lower fps?

  • Vsync by default is off, unless the app specifies. Assuming u have vsync off in the game, it's the same as always off.

I felt the same way about 75 and 60 hz, but weeks ago I bough an 144hz premium freesync monitor and I'm having trouble to run as smooth as I played when I had a monitor like yours (75hz freesync).

I'm currently testing 144hz basic freesync w/ AMD Chill 141/141 fps.

Feels more balenced between those two you tried, but sometimes in the middle of the game I feel a horrendous input lag. Maybe it's connection/script, I didn't figure it out yet.

And unfortunely when you run less you have a pretty bad disadvantage. When I had that monitor, I used to play vsync on, 60hz or 59.94 hz (on windows refresh rate), freesync OFF

  • do you still think to run this game at 60 fps with ingame vsync is better that 120/144fps with no vsync?
How is this even possible to run better? I dont get it. Console Game i guess. Why would they allow more than 60 fps then, if they know this game cant handle it
