Laggy/choppy career mode

So I bought the game about a week ago and haven't had any trouble really until today. I play a lot of career mode and since it's offline I shouldn't be experiencing frame drops or a bit of lag. Was wondering if it's a new issue or if I can do anything to stop it from happening cause it is quite annoying, especially in an offline mode.
