Re: Career Mode: Player Morale is Broken
Player morale in career mode this year is very erratic. It doesn't seem to matter how well the player is performing or even if they're happy with play time and contract. Additionally, for some reason the majority of the players are never happy with team performance even when your team is top of the table. Even doing all of the press conferences don't seem to make a lasting impact. Morale rarely increases beyond content, and if it does it's only temporary and it normally decreases back to content for no reason - I've noticed this decrease especially tends to happen during international breaks.
I had a player hand in a transfer request out of nowhere, no warning whatsoever, because they were unhappy with play time....even though they were getting an appropriate amount of playing time for their squad role. They never even expressed they were unhappy with play time first, just went straight to quitting on the team. Once they hand in the request it locks your ability to remove them from the transfer list, negotiate a new contract, or do anything to change their mind. The transfer request also came after a month-long break during Dec-Jan (was playing with Hertha BSC in 2 Bundesliga). So it makes me wonder if during these breaks for some reason the effect it has on players is them thinking they're not getting playing time, even though there are no games to play.
Please look into this EA, as morale should not be this finicky in game! I don't expect that every player should always be "very happy," but it shouldn't be that hard to keep players happy when player performance, team performance, contract, and play time are all good.
