Re: Ea FC 24 When Playing Online there is huge delay when i press the controller

The game freezes sometimes and I have  between 1 and 2 seconds of input delay. It often gets worse and worse throughout the match.

Sadly I couldnt get the controller showing (is that setting available during a match?) but you can very clearly see the stuttering. slowing down during animations and then speeding up alot as if the game is trying to catch up. You can also see consistent 16-20ms ping and >70fps while my hz is locked to 60. Not to mention: my opponent scored the 2-1 shortly after my equaliser, while my game was still closed up on Son celebrating said equaliser

From 3:10 on in the video are some examples in a row that show the gameplay issues. even the commentary stutters at some point. But the whole 5 minutes show a giant amount of lag issues.

EDIT: To complete the case in 1 post: i've also added the screenshots of my connection with the match history showing that my connection is NOT the issue

You can enable this in your "Game Settings" under "Visual" as in this image -

Can you capture a video with the input overlay on as well? Even .04% is going to cause a problem though. That's data that is being sent, but not received which will cause the game to freeze and speed up until it normalizes and then repeat the next time there's packet loss.

The same thing happened to me, it turns out that I had put the hz at 144 to use them on my monitor and the unlimited fps. When I did, I started noticing input lag/delay. I thought it was the game, two days went by and it was still the same, so I set the hz as they were before to 120 and the  FPS at 90 and there is no longer that input lag. I commented on a forum and a user was able to solve the problem by doing the same thing I said. Try that and let me know if it works for you! (What I do notice is input lag in the corners or when you have to move the trajectory of the ball)"

I will also record a video tommorow of my input delay. I don’t have the best pc however it’s above the minimum to play and considering last fifa I had zero issues apart from frames due to my low graphics, there wasn’t any input delay. Will attempt to record it tommorow and post here so we can get this “bug” fixed.

The game runs perfectly well on all offline game modes.Whenever i play an online game(pro clubs,rivals,seasons) the player i control keeps running in one direction till he goes out of fied and i cant change to any other player as well.

In addition I think it’s disgusting that you can charge over 100 quid in the ea app for a game with more glitches and bugs than super Mario 64 and goat simulator combined. God knows how they have managed to let so many bugs through testing and beta. On the plus side I would say 20% of these glitches have been patched but that 80% left is still disgusting. Multi billion pound company can’t even hire devs to fix glitches at a good rate. Smh. 

For input delay no fix so far. Only slight fixes for frame drops which have improved my frames but that wasn’t my issue.

I experience the same as everyone else in this thread. I don’t understand how my connection can get any better. I play on Xbox Series S with Ethernet / Cable  connection. I also had the same issue with FIFA 23. Sadly, a game I never got to enjoy due to these issues.

I’ve tried the troubleshooting steps and it doesn’t solve my problem. It’s not lag, but a heavy delay on my input. 

I can’t turn with the same pace as in offline-mode, dribbling is not possible. When I’m sprinting it’s like the game don’t register that I have the sprint button pressed all the way in.. Also, my AI players are not reacting normally. 

I don’t think it is an lag issue, because I can see my opponent turning and sprinting just fine, also, their AI are reacting normally.

I’ve seen some solutions were people changed the video settings and had success, but it doesn’t work on my platform.

Let me know if you need me to provide anything else, I’ll cooperate. 

Also, I’ve spoken to my ISP provider, and they’ve confirmed that there is no issue on their end. And I don’t have these problems with any other game.

Another PS5 player here reporting the same issue. I am using a 2000/2000 optical internet connection with the following CQR:

As you can see it is as good as it can be. But still...

Even is Fifa 23 I noticed in most of the games online (not in every of them which is strange enough as well) that whenever I try to pass, shoot, or just move my players it takes 0.5-1 secs to respond after pressing the buttons on the controller. Offline games, just like for other works just fine. 

So it is not about suttering, lagging or whatsoever, it is really like having big fat players who can not move normally, they just feel sluggish and heavy... 

Maybe the best scenario to describe the pain is that I am literally not able to hit volleys or one-time shoots as they just simply can not register the press of the button and got easily blocked and tackled. 

As a long time (20+ years) Fifa fan I am begging you together with a quite large amount of Fifa enthusiasts apparently to fix this or provide some viable solution instead of repeating the same first level support questions over and over again...

I have the same problem on my PS5 since FIFA 23, Vodafone wired 1 g/bit connection, connection report looks good but gameplay is horrible. Delay, players making stupid moves, game feels clunky. 

I also experienced some more responsiveness after midnight. I would think the server has less activity then.

Can you help us out? Otherwise, who am I supposed to contact for help? The game is unplayable and I am currently not receiving any assistance on this matter. 

Also, it is very frustrating seeing so many people having this problem. I mean, it is all over YouTube, TikTok, Reddit.. Even Media is writing articles about it, but still there is nothing from EA Games, why?

Yesterday I had my first responsive games since Fc24 release. I dont know what happend yesterday around midnight.But this game can be fun if you actually have control over your players. 

Ofc is servers fault like in every EA game. They don’t want to say anything like this. It’s sad but is truth. 

it’s my last game from ea im done actually when my fati or rashford are slow like busqets but in enemy team they fast like mbappe breaking speed record 

anyway ea don’t help us with this problem 

i played today around 5-8 am and was ok ,avrage for like 10 games ! i was lucky and won all and got close to div 3 ! back to sb and ofline drafts for me i gues ! grate game EA !

I tried every troubleshooting steps and tips from YouTube, TikTok, Reddit etc.. Nothing works.

I was able to update to Title Update 2 earlier today and the gameplay was fine. Noe it’s back to delay again as it is «peak» times. 

It surely is a server problem as the problem was not there earlier today, I guess most people were at work/school so the activity on the server must’ve been low. 

@EA_Aljo Do you have an answer to why it is impossible to play for some of us during «peak» hours? Or, is there anything we can do?

Yesterday at midnight very responsive gameplay. Today horrible at prime time. The ping is always the same...

Hello guys i found solution for me.First i redownloaded the game from HHD to SSD.Al graphics settings to low,half frame rate vsync off,windoweless borderless,no limit on fps and turn off playstyle overhead indicator.This works for me my gpu is rx 6600 and the game goes perfectly after 5 days of huge controller delay,i hope this works for all of you.

I have tried everything and the delay is just not going away. When I turn V-Sync off my game starts to stutter and there is visible screen tear and when i turn V sync on then the delay gets increased even more.
