I agree. @CinKid73 100% has a different problem to us. He’s getting shutdowns on all games and nowhere near as frequently as we are. I can play any other X/S title for hours without anything but any EA games that are X/S are dashboarding me or shutting my whole Xbox down! It’s happend multiple times when my console isn’t even hot. They’ve definitely messed up the GPU/CPU from game to console.

Not sure what the new issues are with the consoles. Begining in 2020, I first experienced the overheating with FIFA 20 after the changeover to X/S. Out of 30-40 total shutdowns since then, all but four or five times were related to FIFA titles. As an experiment today, I disconnected both fans and played EA FC 24 from noon until an hour ago; eight hours without fail, however the console remained hot after shutdown for ten minutes. In my work environment (IT infrastructure), I have seen overheating and other problems occur in high-end devices that does not show immediate complications; only after days, weeks,.or even months before issues arise. However, the common denominator is that when problems surface, all applications, services, or functionality is visible, not just one element. Need to conduct more research, perhaps query Microsoft posts to determine all causes of shutdown protocols, and compare with current symptoms. Wish my solution could have worked for you, keep us posted of when a mitigation procedure is discovered; may be long-term issues that will cause issues with more people in the future, or lead to complete Xbox system failures.

So far, after reviewing a number of Microsoft posts, some people have reported issues directly linked to FIFA or Madden titles. The four most common solutions are replacement of surge protector or plugging into different outlet (unlikely, would effect all games), obtaining repair order and shipping console to Microsoft (probably out of warrenty though, similar to mine, which was purchased in 2019), changing power saving options in main console settings (instant on or energy saving configuration), or similar to Windows, resetting the console utilizing the 'save game content option'. The reset option takes approximately 20 minutes, and will wipe corrupt game files from the console drives and cache repositories. Personally, I would try the console reset, only posted solution that makes sense for problems occuring for a small number of games, while the rest function properly. Going through previous EA forums, there are more than a hundred users with similar circumstances, dating back to 20 and 21, however as previously mentioned, not a widespread issue affecting everyone with a Xbox console. Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on Series X. Being a Series X user myself, I didn't run into anything similar so far.

First, I would recommend you try some basic troubleshooting steps such as a power cycle or a clean reinstall of the game.

Additionally, you can try some steps from the Xbox support website.

If you are still experiencing issues, we would need some more information in order to reproduce the issue.

• When is the exact moment the issue happens (flag selection, profile selection etc)
• Does the Xbox actually turns off, or it's just a desktop crash (error messages always helpful)
• Any videos showing how it happens would be appreciated if possible

Sorry to hear the situation has not resolved yet, will continue to diagnose possible solutions going forward, not only because I own a Xbox Series X and want to help, but also because it is my job at work, simply on different hardware devices. The power cycle solution posted by the moderator earlier is the one aspect I forgot to mention yesterday. Similar to clocks and other electronic devices the console draws power even when powered off. As a habit since purchasing the console, I always unplug the Xbox after each game session to clear memory cache, and plug back in for the next gameplay the following day. I am unsure what problems have been circumvented by doing this procedure, however, have not experienced any issues with any games recently. Console should remain unplugged for at least three to five minutes to drain capacitors, similar to resetting modems and routers.

So my sons Xbox series X has been doing the same so far we have tried resetting console, no good, deleting game and all saved data even from the cloud no good tried a different account still no good. Cleaned the air vents no good different plug socket no good we have tried everything and it’s all failed. It just switches off no messages no warning just off and it’s only EAFC 24 it does it with.

It occurs at random, during gameplay, on the menus, SBC's, anything. So no correlation to say increased use of network components for gameplay or even the excuse of Hypermotion causing a CPU overheat - I have experienced shutdowns of my Series X from doign 20 mins of SBC's since getting on the game.

• Does the Xbox actually turns off, or it's just a desktop crash (error messages always helpful)

The Xbox fully shuts down. My speakers make a sort of burp noise, similar to when you unplug an aux cable, which is likely the sudden loss of power. The screen flashes green for a moment and then nothing, console completely off. I believe this is an overheat measure by the Xbox, but the console is NOT overheating. My console also won't then turn on with the controller, it requires a manual button press turn on.

• Any videos showing how it happens would be appreciated if possible

Unlikely this will happen unless there's some Twitch streamers or whatever that are reporting this and can have a livefeed of their screen to show when it happens. Otherwise you cannot expect people to setupa  tripod and fill up GB's of data to record their TV waiting for the bug to occur. Mine happens every couple hours but I don't have the means to provide a video unfortunately.

I feel as though this issue should require a lot more urgency.

Personally, I am on an Xbox One S and my experience has been awful.

I had trouble downloading the game in the first place (the installation kept stopping) which led to me doing a factory reset on the console, as I thought this may have been the problem. However, it was far from it. I was able to get onto the game for a while until it crashed (another known issue for the game, not that it should surprise me). I thought nothing of it and tried to go back into the game... this caused my console to freeze and a few moments later, turn off completely. I was then unable to turn it back on for a while so went to Microsoft Support and tried a solution they gave me... and it worked. I was able to use my console as normal. That is until I tried going onto EAFC again, which is when this problem occurred again. I then had a thought that my download could have had corrupt files or something similar causing these problems so I cleared the data from the game and uninstalled it. I then went to re-install the game where it got stuck half way through and caused my console to freeze yet again.

Since this issue is only being caused by this game, I will not be touching it until the problem gets a solution. If it doesn't I will be demanding a refund as I am unable to play the game I paid for.

Hey all, if having issues with the download/install of the game then this would point to a system issue.

Where are you installing the game to? Have you tried the steps MS recommend for such issues?

Why are you ignoring the issue here? We are all telling you that the console just switches off, yet you choose to ignore every other post and go with the only one who has a download issue. I have tried numerous fixes and lost all our player contracts and loan players and all the early access stuff trying to get a fix. 

For me, its problem from ea fc 24 , my other games runs perfectly, I hope the first update will fix it

The update that’s just been released hasn’t solved the issue
