Rivals, super fast, unplayable

Played 2 Rivals games last night around 10:00pm PST and boy oh boy, the game-play was like the complete opposite of what it has been. I felt like everyone of mine and opponents players were moving faster than Sonic the Hedgehog. It was worse playing this way than if my players were slower, was still getting delays but now everything was super super fast. I just don't get it.

How can game-play be this varied?

This isn't a connection issue, there is something fundamentally wrong with the game servers, maybe some EA employee downloads porn on this server during working hours, just spit balling here.
