Xbox Saved Games location?

Hi folks,

So my son plays fc24 on Xbox One. He has a child EA account that's linked to his Xbox account.

Whenever he starts the game, he gets prompted to select the last local or last cloud save. Now they are both similar in date/time but they are both 2 months in the past. He can cancel out of that screen and continue to load the game and all his v recent progress is saved. However I would like to solve the synching issue.

Before I do anything I need to understand where his FC24 progress is stored (cards, ultimates team etc). Is it saved to his EA account, his Xbox account, or both? Reason for asking is that if I selected one of the old local or cloud saves it may wipe his progress since then if all the progress was only stored on his Xbox account. I've seen some suggestions to load the game, cancel out of the 'choose local or cloud save' screen, then go and delete all local Xbox saves, play a bit in the game, quit out, reload game and if you get asked again just choose the local save option and the progress should still be there and the Xbox save synching should also start working again.

Has anyone else encountered this before? Would the above approach work?
