Connection tests

Since my game is unplayable due to one sided delay, I would like to see the results of someone with normal gameplay.

This test was taken on a wired connection at Cloudflare speed test.

Speed doesn't matter, its all about the jitter/latency. 

Fifa used to work perfect years ago on about 1mb of speed.

  • @NornIron11 Speed test while they give you an idea it’s not showing in game.

    The best way is to run the input overlay hit a button and count the seconds till the second controller lights up. If you can count to 6 it’s terrible. If it’s close or you can’t even get a count out then it’s little to no delay.

    Ea explains it more here. I know you are one of the few who have posted a video add it in the thread maybe you can get the others to post theirs. Otherwise it really does look like ea is right in saying very few have delay.

    @RadioShaqs Hi thanks but u already know I've done on the tests EA supply and everything looks perfect. 

    0 jitter 0 packet loss.

    That's why I'm wanting tests from people with normal gameplay to rule out lag compensation. 

    For some reason people with normal gameplay or people that think nothing is wrong never post their results. 

    Anyone that ever is complaining usually have a perfect or near perfect connection.

    Just like to add its not controller input delay, its gameplay delay.

    Thats why my AI dont work as they should.

    @NornIron11 Input and gameplay delay is the same. Unless you actually mean offline not squad battles. Then speed tests wouldn’t even matter. This is often confused and used interchangeably and why without videos it’s actually hard to tell what people are actually referring too.

    I mean gameplay has a delay you hit a button the ball has to make it before you kick it. That’s why you have an early and late option.

    If you are talking server and connection speeds then that’s shown by the input overlay.

    I have average speeds ping of 30 USA has very little server coverage for its size. My input overlay is almost always in sync which means online I have little delay.

    Now if I get a server even father I can hit yellow pings and then get delay but this isn’t server related. It’s just low population and distance so I back out of those.

    @RadioShaqs  AI reacting late is input delay? I thought it was the delay between the controller and what happens on the screen. 

    Every player in my team is slower than my opponents, my AI if they attempt to intercept is late and usually miss the ball orvtake a terrible touch.

    My Opponents AI are lunging to intercept balls they shouldn't be able to get, every touch they take sticks like glue.

    If I full barred a pass from 2 yards and my opponent intercepted the ball it would stick to them ' Even with 99 control that should be impossible " my players can't control the ball when it nearly stops at their feet.

    My players from opponents goalkicks are turning their body around and running at the ball backwards to head it, How's that possible the players have no clue where the ball is.

    The highest my ping has been in mths was 21ms.

    @NornIron11 Like if you load up a pass if you pick early or late this will change the direction of the pass. It’s not instant.

    On the old forum I believe it was tdof made all the server tick posts ect so much info on what ea could do better with servers.

    His video example was if you move back and forth and your player has to control the ball and not instantly shoot he said that was delay. While there is delay in the action it’s not server related.

    He said if you knock the ball on and it’s 20 yards away it should instantly shoot. He wanted arcade not realism of controlling the ball.

    Sever delay is if your two online input overlay are not in sync. This would be one sided delay. It would either be server or connection related. Ea say it’s not server related so it would likely be on your end.

    Now you can also show no online input overlay delay then it’s your setup. The last thread the user had the tv not in game mode so when he hit the button it didn’t react as fast. This wouldn’t be shown on the input overlay as that’s not server related.
  • @NornIron11I get the backwards running to head the ball too. Consistent and annoying, they usually don't give a good header too.

    My AI usually don't mark opposition in their zones or even intercept passes. I have to select and control each player or my opponent would just sprint through the field on goal.

    I noticed if I delete saved game data, go offline and do my settings it fixes it, sadly it now only last 10 in game minutes and then I am back to square one.
